Good Evening, I missed the live but I'm watching it now. I had my mom out today she's in a nursing home now and so I came for a week spending it in a motel but I will be spending alot of time with her taking her out shopping and going down to the park to watch the ducks and geese in the river. Spent the entire day out just enjoying each others company. I live in Missouri and she is in northern Iowa area.

Great episode. I was totally happy watching it then that lady called you a liar, then I was mad and indignant. You’re still one of the good guys! Geez. When we’d go to visit my grandmother in Berlin, we’d always put a penny on the tracks and watch the train go by and smoosh it. I still love trains. Thanks for another great video.

When you go to VA, there is a very old cemetery in my mom's hometown of Abingdon in the sw corner of the state. Has the original cabin of the preacher, a mound tomb, a mass grave of confederate dead that died in a train crash. Lots of history, the town was founded in 1778.

I bet that I have the best burial spot for myself. My beloved husband, John’s, ashes are already there. His burial place-and will be mine is the Gulf of Mexico. I donated my body and that of John’s body to Baylor College of Medicine. After 2 years of keeping the body, Baylor cremates the remains and dumps the ashes into the Gulf of Mexico. I am in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Galveston, Texas. Galveston island is in the Gulf of Mexico. I am Pam Indo age 72. John, my husband, died about 26 months ago. When my younger sister died about 2 years ago, she had requested prior to her death that she be cremated and her ashes spread around Galveston because we had spent so many years of happiness in Galveston.

Ron, my family still goes to a memorial at my dad"s family. We all bring food and put the food on wood and sawhorses. We also have a church services. When I told my friends from work, they freaked out, but I explained we don't eat on the graves. They could not believe we ate at the cemetery. In the old days, everyone came to the cemetery the before the memorial to clean up the cemetery, and we all bring flowers to put on each family members graves. We like to get silk flowers for saddle flowers for the tombstone. We also do this for my mom's family as well, but we pay for gravesite to have the cemetery cleaned & the grass cut, etc. The land was donated...so we have a family member be the treasurer. We still do this today...that's why I love blog.

@catholiccrusader53283 жыл бұрын
Like yourself Ron, I learned my lesson about the full 3 second rule at Stop signs the hard way. I was on the south side of Chicago. I made a rolling stop then-WHAM! A cop caught me, pulled me over and wanted to give me a ticket. I asked the officer what constitutes a legal stop. He told me. I apologized then he let me go. I've been doing the legal 3 second stop from then on.

Lancaster California it was peaceful and not scary at all. Cemeteries are beautiful even the Cemetery in Virginia City Reno Nevada. Ironically, our local historian/ cemetery burial map keeper was named Twilah❤ One she couldn't ever solve here wasn't an unmarked grave. No. It was a tall red granite monument that has a United Methodist- style cross with a lick of flame beside it...only inscribed with "Enough is Enough". A total mystery of who, why, when ??

I love your channel. Ive been walking cemeteries since I was a little girl. My Grandma did genealogy the old fashioned way. I heard you say that you were going to Georgia. If you are going near Savannah then I have an interesting story for you. My generation Grandfather Lachlan McIntosh lived in Savannah. He was a leader and right hand for George Washington. He had a rival in Savannah named Button Gwinnet. Button was one of the signers of the Declaration of Indpend. Button challenged Lachlan to a duel at dawn.... I will let you wikipedia the rest of the story. Funny thing... they are both buried in Colonial Park Cemetery...just feet from each other. Lachlans home is still standing in that part of town also. There is a plaque on the outside of the home. I know you love history so I thought you would like this story.

My Mother passed away when I was 17 a week after my Birthday and she was buried in Lancaster California and my Dad spent years saving money so he could bring her body back to Washington State. The thing is she wanted to be cremated and not put in the ground. I had a hard time with it but like my Mom I have told my Children I want to be cremated.
