Let's Go Steady

This 1945 movie "Let's Go Steady" features Mel Torme singing "Baby Boogie" with lindy hoppers Dean Collins, Jewel McGowan and Bob Ashley.

Partly inspired by "Beat Me Daddy, Eight To The Bar", "Scrub Me Mama With A Boogie Beat" and "Bounce Me Brother With A Solid Four". In turn, I suspect "Baby Boogie" inspired "Baby Sittin' Boogie" from the early 1960s, which unexpectedly was a hit in Europe also, recorded in a variety of languages there.

There are more brass players in the recording than shown in the film. Listen at 1:07 to the riff type melody in 8va and it is sax combined with trpt and 8ba bone, yet at the same time you hear a chordal brass section (at least 5 parts) playing some "bops" behind it. Tricky! Fun movie short.
