Someone I know use to frequent the Salvation Army faithfully. He would pay employees on the side to find him the good stuff. They would call him and load up his car in the back of the store. He did this for years.

Sometimes it don’t matter what neighborhood you go to … I went to a goodwill outlet in the ghetto and found lots of designer pieces.. I once found a max mara teddy bear coat brand new with tags that i sold at a for $1,700

I found that out a long time ago. You are soooo right , I once gave the wrong bag of stuff on a sat. Evening at closing. Went back early the next day, Sunday and they said they shipped it to another location and I new that was a lie because one of the ladies told me they didn't have a shipment to go out til Monday

Just came across your channel. I used to thrift in goodwill stores in well off neighborhoods. Guess what? the well off people were thrifting there also. They would have baskets full. Most goodwill items are received from other donation sites. I make my best thrifting from small boutique style thrift stores. I kind of hate the goodwills. Their prices are kind on the high end. Especially since they are getting them free. Especially the clothes. The most I’ve seen nice quality shoes are probably around $10-12. Goodwill shoes be on the high end. Goodwill is usually my last resort.

Not mansions but large houses. Those people probably work every day & make a good salary or are now retired. They work or have worked for their money. They may not always buy high priced clothing, but some I'm pretty sure do wear nicer, more expensive things. If you go to a wealthy neighborhood, there probably aren't any goodwills around. Most people who are "rich" the money is working for them. They don't wear cheap clothes.

Hi Kay! Just an fyi, I am in TN and am an avid thrifter, like you! And I know that here, ALL goodwill donations are taken from the store (or town) and deliberately taken to other stores/towns for distribution! The reason for this, so I was told, is so that people who donated things won't try to come back and get them back! So, you don't need to go to stores in the rich neighborhoods! What i do is find a friend in the back that tells me which stores the donations go to!!! Happy hunting!!!
