Another cool video from you Brendon, as living in the U.K not many record shops around these days. I will be visiting N.J on Monday and will be looking in on these great record shops.
@macnorton Жыл бұрын
I am a regular there and for a small shop there is a LOT in there. Dave, the owner, is a very cool dude and is always up to chat or make a deal. If you love metal, especially in thrash/black/death, there really is no place better. Also for non-locals, North Arlington and Arlington are the same place. It is fun NJ mail address nonsense that makes it confusing.

That Brian Wilson in the longbox is crazy…some longboxes already opened with no CD go for big money on eBay.
@BrendonSnyder Жыл бұрын
I’ve got a Motley Crue Dr. Feelgood long box from when I bought it in 1989. But of course the CD is out of that one since I played it. I used to keep all of my long boxes until I hit a few hundred and had no where to store them. Also around that time they started phasing them out. I think at this point I have about 10 left. But they’re always fun to find. They bring back great memories.

@@BrendonSnyder ...you mentioned Russ Ballard as a back-up singer. The guy from Argent?
@BrendonSnyder Жыл бұрын
That’s the name on the back of the LP…unless there is another singer with the same name, I’m guessing it’s the Argent singer.
@maxslamer Жыл бұрын
@@jazzpunk Phoenix bass player Jim Rodford and drummer Bob Henrit were both in Argent along with Russ Ballard (and Rod Argent, of course). They both also were longtime members of The Kinks later (Rodford 1978-1996, Henrit 1984-1996). Jim Rodford also was a member of The Zombies (with Rod Argent) in 1968 and from 2001 until his death in January 2018. Source: Wikipedia (and not my memory, to me Phoenix is a newer, french band :) ) But I do have Argent, Russ Ballard, The Zombies and The Kinks in my CD collection.

Cool store, cool stuff. I see some that I recall getting on Xmas...1973 - Captain Beyond's 2nd album (which I did not like in the day. Have come to like it...really has a Santana vibe on some tracks). HEAVY CREAM was an Xmas LP, as well. The Doors' ABSOLUTELY LIVE. Mine is the original artwork, a live shot of the band. Still have these, my CB LPs are framed.

Rick Springfield was an important part of my teenage back in the early 80s. I still keep my vinyl records of Working Class Dog, Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet, Living in Oz and Hard to Hold (soundtrack). Great memories! Working Class Dog has the bombastic hit Jessie's Girl, but IMO Living in Oz is a much more mature album.

Didn't you have a copy of Steve Winwood's 1977 S/T album in your hand in a previous LGTTRS video? You might want to go back and see if that's the one. It looked like it might be that. According to Discogs, that is his official solo debut LP.

Arc of a Diver was my highschool favorite lp. Still a great listen. Steve plays all the instruments and write the songs! That was Wilson's Eugene Landy lp where they later removed Landy off the credits. Landy a questionable psychotherapist was controlling Wilson's life at that point.
