That’s half the fun…not knowing what you could find. Of course there is nothing worse than going to a record store a literally not finding anything you want. But since that rarely happens it’s always such a fun time.

Reminds me a little of Rock of Ages in Garden City,MI. A bit chaotic, plenty of metal, and those annoying long plastic cd security devices. That plastic noise when flipping through cds is irritating, but the large selection makes you go through all the racks😂

Around 6:00 in...that stack of cds on the left! I'm slowly working my way there. That BILLION DOLLAR BABIES extended cd set includes, IIRC, a live show in Texas, 1973. I think this is the same as the vinyl-only RSD release in 2019. It's a good recording of the original AC Group.

Nothing inside the booklet, it’s just a folded blank interior, just the cover and writing on the back. It was very cheaply done but was his first best of collection.

Cool place however those stacks are crazy reminds of Village Revival which Iike but a little chaotic. Kind of like my experiences going to Rough Trade in NYC how everything is separated, new pop, oldies, pre punk ? and some other ridiculous filing, how about a-z kind of does the trick for me. I hate playing guessing games with what the "staff" thinks Ultravox is or Elton John if he's an oldie or current etc... Looking at this makes me think NYC needs a regular record store like a Tower Records again, since Japan is doing very well with it. And also since NYC has been a disaster with the location since having multiple stores and pop ups in that location that are gone in a few months, ridiculous . On the Tower Records subject, Japan, I am seeing some reports of how they are changing "Cds" over there with packaging since some are complaining now prices are going up because "physical media" has again shown a rise this year, led by vinyl, but new cds are struggling somewhat mainly because some say the packaging cant compete with Vinyl and making it "collectible" well I saw some video on a KZbin called "IS this the future of the cd" and its not just Japanese artitsts it is American artists packaging this that way over there. It's actually very interesting but clearly will raise the price of CDS for sure.

Can't imagine anyone would buy those Ted Nugent and Amboy Dukes records. Bad of shape as covers are and can't see albums in any kind of decent playability. Actually wouldn't take them for free. Thanks Brendon and enjoy your day off. Edit #1: enjoy your week off, lol.
@BrendonSnyder

Oh yes I’ve been surprised by some of the quality of the albums that are there. Though I think those albums are relatively rare as I haven’t seen them in other stores. Maybe it’s more for the person who wants them no matter what and certainly I would expect the price would be a good deal with how bad the condition of the album covers are in. That or maybe the vinyl is in great shape and it’s meant for someone to buy for the vinyl only. I’ve bought two copies of an album before, one for a good sleeve and one for a good record and then combined them to have an even better quality album overall without paying a fortune. But those two albums have been then for at least the 2 years I’ve been going there so it seems we aren’t the only ones who have issue with the quality.

They were playing music, death metal in fact, but it was relatively low in the background. I don’t know if they did that for me so I could film, or because they know I’m not into death metal, but either way it was very helpful for filming.

this place was, is and always will be a mess...and the guys makes up prices after you bring your item(s) to the counter by consulting recent Ebay prices. You may find something you want and end up leaving empty handed. One of the most frustrating stores ever
@BrendonSnyder
@BrendonSnyder 5 ай бұрын
Nothing you said is untrue, but that’s only done on used product and you can still haggle the price. Whereas in other stores when the price is set, the price is the price and there is no haggling. I tend to stick to new product so that I don’t have to haggle. But of the 2 used items I bought during this visit I got them for less than I would if I bought them online so I felt like I make a good score.
