My partner and I traveled to Hanoi last May. And yes, I agree na instant milyonaryo ka sa Vietnam. I had 8M VND din through ForEx. That's 20,300 ata in pesos. I think almost close naman ang conversion. Also looking forward to visiting HCM one time.

Wihtdrawing abroad, you just need to inform your debit card bank to open for international. Once is okay with some banks, check with your local bank. For CC, visa and mastercard is commonly accepted everywhere (but some establishments require a minimum amount). Surprisingly in vietnam, some stalls in Bahn Than accepts card even tiangge type😅 some folks there speak tagalog as well

Don't forget to make tawad 50-30% off ng quoted price. Pag ayaw sa price na gusto mo hanap ka sa iba. Basta Vietnam puno ang maleta mo pauwi ng Pinas. I went to Ho Chi Minh last December of 2019 and I super loved it! Affordable ang food and masarap, affordable din and accommodation and maganda. Love their coffee culture, maraming choices and masarap din. I also used Grab for my transportation and maganda experienced ko sa kanila kasi nagbbgay talaga ng sukli pag cash ang gamit mo. When I went to Vietnam almost 10 years ago, mas madali pa i-convert mentally yung VND to PHP. Alisin mo lang last three zeros sa pera nila, then whatever's left, multiply mo by two. Yun na yung Peso equivalent e.g. VND 80,000 (80 x 2) = Php160.

Last March pumunta kami sa ho Chi minh. Nakaka stress pera nila at naduduling ako sa dami ng zero pati sa dami ng scooter. Pati sa pavement dumadaan mga motor tapos di pa sila nagpapatawid. Pero nice experience pa rin. Mas maganda bili ka ng sim card sa convienice store nila 150 pesos lang comvert sa peso.

If you visit Hanoi, beware of the pollution and guard your lungs accordingly. Hanoi is most polluted city in Southeast Asia, and that's one of the reasons Covid-19 have been killing way more Vietnamese than citizens of neighboring countries, as persistent pollution severely damage lungs and make them vulnerable to infections. The young, the old, and the handicaps are permanent 5th class citizens under Commie regime, as the disadvantaged members of the society are often taken advantages of by others with no safety net nor societal protection whatsoever (fairly common sights are tattered pre-teeny kids and old men and women in their 60's, 70's begging or selling lottery tickets on the streets), and almost everyone 95% of population get abuses by the utterly corrupt and brutal Vietnamese Commie regime as their lands can be robbed by it anytime. Even during the pandemic when most countries provided aids to their citizens, the ruling Vietnamese Commies not only didn't provide aids (only about 1% received them and those were usually the members of privileged Commie ruling class or their own associates. Yes, they took citizens' tax money to selectively give it to themselves) coordinated with each other to exploit the citizens even more with their dangerous nostril test kits (made by their shell company Việt á) that they falsely claimed of having been approved by World Health Organization (WHO). HCM is a beautiful city you just have to be careful of pick pockets, my friend’s passport and pocket money was stolen when we arrived at the airport, tapos when we requested for the cctv nagrefuse ang airport security, kaya nagpahelp na lng kami sa embassy, kaya if nagtravel kau sa Vietnam better use a sling bag and place it in front of you, yun ang advise of my vietnamese friend tapos if nagpapachange kau ng currency better inside the bank mas safe

Halaaaa! Kakagaling lang namin ng Saigon last week, sobrang saya and surprisingly ang tipid ng trip namin hehehe. Based on our experience, mahigpit yung mga staff ng cebpac pabalik ng pinas re handcarry baggage as in .5 lang ata lumagpas pinapabayad. Ang daming napabayad ng excess on the spot! Pati sa boarding gate nag check sila 😢 kaya make sure sa weight ng handcarry/check-in bagge 😊 or kapag na-sita kayo sa counter, thru app na lang kayo mag bayad para mas mura. Nakakalito talaga yung denomination nila 😅 good thing mostly ng locals honest naman kapag nag babayad kami. Enjoy Sir JM!

Hi JM.. Next month mag Singapore-Malaysia ako.. and lahat ng hotels and itineraries ko I based sa itineraries mo din, same when I went to Thailand..hehe.. Nag book na ko hotels ko Ahyu hotel sa Malaysia, kaso sa Singapore sold out na ang Heritage collection in Chinatown so sa Heritage in Pagoda na lang ako nag book, magkalapit lang aman ata sila..
