4:23 hourglass and pack stamina are not the same thing, the stamina is essentially just the packs being stored up for you to be able to open when ready. so for non paid players, you can hold two packs at a time (two stamina saved up), and for paid players, you can hold up to four packs at a time (four stamina saved) using hourglasses to reduce the time to open a pack also count as using pack stamina. so basically all you have to do is open five of the mythical island packs in order to complete the mission

Interesting no one talks about this, but collecting 100 cards can be close for free to play players. You get 10 per day from stamina, plus 20 from the free packs, that's 90 total. So wonder picks ignored, you cannot have your stamina cap, and also you might need to use hourglasses for 2 packs to reach the 100 cards opened within the week.

You also get 4 hourglasses a day, which amounts to 2 and 1/3 packs in 7 days, putting you at exactly 100 cards for free players. And you will also get some free hourglasses doing the event itself. So it should be no problem as long as you enter daily and do the things. Probably no one is talking about it because it is what's expected, like everything in this game (competing collections or example) is close but doable (which is more than most mobile games can claim) for free players. In fact Ill say it's one of the most free to play friendly game of this kind I've played.

Ok so the pack stamina just means your main packs, not free packs from events or promo drops. It doesn’t matter how many pack hourglasses you use because it counts as using pack stamina. Merry Xmas!

The lack of pack points from presents is not new, it was always there: you only get pack points if you open a pack from the pack shop, in a ratio of 1 pack point per card; whenever you receive cards from packs received as presents, you get some amount of stardust depending on the highest rarity of all cards present in the pack. We had the same behavior when opening packs we receive from past events, like the venusaur and lapras ones.

Im back in savings mode so all these free packs will help with the urge to use 'just 1 or 2 hoirglasses to speed up my next pack opening' while tbe hourglasses go into the bank in anticipation of the next full set release. I still need a few 3 diamonf and EX dupes from both sets (and for some reason i cant pull a Dewlong to save my life, ive opened so many pikachu packs but that damn seal keepa evading me). Anyways at this point the best chance of getting the handful of cards i need is via wonder picks. Then after that, whenever trading is added, (which i think may be at the end of the month when the next full set releases) I can trade away some of 3 diamonds and EXs i have more than 2 copies of to snag the last few cardw i need (fyi ive heard through the grapevine that shine dust will be needes ti make tradea, take it with a grain of salt but i figured dust would be involved from the starr as (another) way to limit trading. Id like to have enough resourcea saved up for the next set so i can open at least 50 packs on day 1 of its release (without having to spend $ on gold, though i have spent $ but just the premium pass and a couple of the cheaper BF gold bundles and 1 xmas gold bundles but thats about it as i find the games fairly f2p friendly since its mostly alt art cards that are the most monetized). GL to everyone in the Blastois event, hope you open 2 of the promo Blastois back to back

I am a free to play player, I finished mythical island but I am still opening packs from there to get the Mew coin and stuff (I am still 7 left), which already feels like a waste. but extra packs that don't even count towards that, and another mission of opening mythical island packs... Yeah, that feels like a huge waste. They should at least mixed up the packs you get and any mission not expansion specific that requires opening packs should allow for any pack. i justo hope when trading comes I can just change all the extra stuff I dont need now somewhat in a fair trade for stuff ill rather be opening now...

@Zakading I think it's about 57 (because the Christmas free packs don't count) but yes. I am technically missing regular Vaporeon (though I can buy it. I'll wait till I open the 60 packs just in case). I got there in about 40 packs (and some wonder picks). I only go for wonder picks that have 2hits in them (2 rares or more) since they cost the same and that gave me a lot of the good ones at the beginning. I am in fact just 2 rares and 2 ex away of getting all the playpieces twice (which ideally would be my objective). I am way behind on genetic apex though 😅. That's why I don't want to keep opening this ones 🤣.

Pack stamina is how you open packs, hourglasses just reduce stamina timer. The only reason it specifies opening them with stamina is so you have to consume your daily packs rather than packs you get a event rewards, hourglasses have nothing to do with it directly.

You only get pack points for using pack stamina, has been like this since forever, because they're using the gift box, you don't get pack points, same as what happened with promo packs, instead you get 70 Shinedust, same as when you opened promo packs.

Wow, I never noticed the gifted packs don't give pack points. So you get a free booster pack, but you can't choose which booster to open, and you don't get pack points. Much worse than just giving us 12 hourglasses. Xmas.

Am I crazy, or is it impossible to earn enough shop tickets to clear out even half of the hourglass shop per month? You get up to 5 shop tickets a day, from thanks/showcase likes sooo 150 tickets in a 30 day month.. The 6x pack hourglass purchase requires a minimum of 180 tickets to buy out. You then need another 30 tickets for the last 10 pack hourglasses. Then, you'd need another 210 tickets if you wanted to buyout the wondertrade ones... I know there are events that sprinkle in tickets, but the shop ticket income feels extremely miniscule compared to what things cost

Getting thanks from after Wonder Pick & PVP matches and likes from showcases are main source of Shop tickets. Wonder pick is the most unreliable unless you have amazing luck and pull rare cards often so people will want to thank at your pick (Which some still not going to give if they don't get the targeted cards), adding more friends and liking collections can be decent way but can only do this once a day each, PVP matches seem to be the most effective as long as most players have decency to thank for the match. Hope this can help yet get more, I have just enough to clear monthly (Didn't play much PVP but have decent amount of friends and like each others collections)

@kekchanbiggestfan i broke down the math in my original comment. To buy all the pack hourglasses each month in the shop requires 210 tickets alone, which the game does not sustain currently. Thats also not including any event items, or new cards that end up in the shop down the road, such as the Natural Foliage backdrop(this costs 50 tickets which alone is 10 days worth of income...)
