Is Bhutia similar to Gyagar Khampa? I presume Gyagar Khampa are Tibetans who lived/born in India before the exodus of Tibetants to India after 1959?

I think so, because when you search Gyagar khampa in Google it shows a lot of pictures of bhutias and many people say that the bhutias are originally from Kham , but I'm not sure I'm just sharing what I know...

Your Tibetan is impeccable for a 3rd generation. So is it you are what they call Bhutia but proud of your Tibetan ancestry?. Though don’t know the exact difference between Tibetan and Bhutia as to when you are considered Bhutia and not Tibetan lol. However it is sad when they speak Nepali at home and instead of Tibetan or Bhoti which has rich written and spoken. Like and subscribe.

Awwww thank you. Well m glad to hear that my Tibetan is impeccable🫰🏻😁but I do fumble sometimes due to speaking in multiple language in day to day life. I love speaking in Tibetan with my dad. My mom though speaks dromo fluently as it’s her mother tongue so we communicate more in dromo and a mix of Tibetan and Nepali. We all love our own mother tongue undoubtedly But nevertheless I believe we should respect all languages equally and not type cast and discriminate one from another. we live in a country of very diverse n rich in culture and languages. Well for being Bhutia yes you’ll find many Tibetan Bhutias in Sikkim and Darjeeling Kalimpong areas. To keep it brief it’s one of the tribe of here and to have something to specify that yes you are a resident and you belong to this certain place you need to specify you belong to a certain tribe like to have it official and documented for many reasons. And there is a history behind it which I wouldn’t want to specify here which might get a little political and I don’t want to end up in a political brawl when I wake up tomorrow morning😄😄 but besides I hope that my point has come across clear to you. If not then do lemme know heheh🤍🫰🏻

May be open your mind and broaden your horizon and your thought process a little bit my dear. Well let’s say hypothetically that even if I am faking being Tibetan as you are very boldly accusing me of then shouldn’t you be actually delighted and happy to see that some one else from some other community is happily adapting to Tibetan culture and speaking our Tibetan language? You clearly need to clear your brain of the litter that is filled in there brother.

We like your family preparing to make Khazay or Tibetan Losar cookies together. I believe that your ancestry is from Tibet, I remember a gentleman with Bhutia last name,but he is a Tibetan in heart and mind but loyalties towards both India and Tibet. Which is very reasonable and ethical. Your Tibetan spoken language is perfect even better than the children raised in the Western countries.

Absolutely, As Tibetans our ancestry lies in Tibet and the love & feeling of belongingness will always remain within us. But at the same time being a citizen of this country having born & bring raised here and to have been sheltered, my loyalties and love & respect also is as strong for India as well. The Bhutia are definetly NOT Tibetan. They inhabit the foothills of the Himalayas, and even those from Yadong province (Dromo and Chumbi) are from fertile valleys south of the Tibetan Plateau and south of the Himalayas, there is a major distinction in that alone. Now of course, you guys follow our religion and our customs, however, let it be known that does not make you Tibetan and you never will be one. Be proud of your identity, stop with this migration bs, because guess what? Everyone migrated from somewhere. Do not claim to be us, it's become impersonation and infatuation at this point and it is strange.
@kellybhutia
@kellybhutia 10 ай бұрын
You answered your own doubt very well Sonam. Ofcourse every human at some point in time have migrated from somewhere right. And I’m sure even you would agree on this that Bhutias, Nepalis or any other community for that matter for sure suddenly didn’t drop from heaven onto Sikkim right. Everybody came from somewhere at some point of time. And that goes for most states and most countries. And yes now we are all Bhutia Sikkimese Indian by nationality. And we’re all proud of it. No one’s denying that but where you got it wrong is I’m talking about our roots our ancestral period. So look brother I’m not here to get on a debate with you about my background religion or identity. Neither am I or anyone is forcing it onto you. I’m extremely proud of my identity as a Bhutia as a Tibetan as a Sikkimese and as an Indian. So you stick to your thought process and I’ll keep mine. I don’t see the reason of you throwing so much of negativity here on my comments section. I’m Bhutia and I’m a Tibetan and I’m proud of it. And you gotta stop this BS with our religion and your religion thing. You’re taking this to another level which is not ethically right. Now since you brought it up anyway then the religion you’re talking about that you and i both follow is in ancient Tibetan scripture which is read during prayers by every monk and every human that follows Tibetan Buddhism which I’m sure you would agree with. We did not adapt to it. It is what has been rightfully followed from centuries from the time the holy scriptures have been translated from Pali and Sanskrit into Tibetan. Dont be so full of negativity and hatred Sonam. Rather go do some research find some good books on the origin of the tribes and history of Sikkim. And if you don’t have time to do that then please don’t come here to debate with me on your half known misinformation knowledge. History is not BS just because it’s not making sense to you or may be you’re so full of ego to accept the truth that is stated in history or in every book or anywhere else wherever you can get that information from in this day. But no, why would you put in that kind of little bit of effort right. You would rather sit here and throw your half hearted debate on people’s origination. You need to broaden your horizon and not be so backward and narrow minded. Now even if I go by what you claim then fine Bhutias and Tibetans are different then still why and what is this negativity and hate for! We follow same religion we have same traditional attires same cultures we pray to same gods read same holy scripture speak similar language! There is no need to create negativity hate and division. We’re all one at the end. All human that’s it. There is no need to do your religion and our religion. You’re taking it on another tangent. Even if to go by your words that “we adapted and followed your religion” then shouldn’t you be moreover happy as a Tibetan that some one else or some other community is following Buddha’s path and teachings? What’s wrong with you brother. You need to clear brain of the rut that’s in there. And anyways there is no point of proving your point here on my comment section because it is an old video and hardly anyone will get to read your views and comments except for me. If you want to be heard then please share your views somewhere else where it will be heard. Spread peace and unity brother not division.
@sonam1959_
@sonam1959_ 10 ай бұрын
@@kellybhutia You simplifying my comments to be of hatred and negativity shows how little you took away. It is a common very trend for people of the North East, such as you lot to claim ancestry and migration from the Tibetan Plateau, it's so over and done with that it's now reached a point where it is comical. First of all, let's get rid of the colonial term "Bhutia", before that you guys were called Lhopo, same as the Lhoba and Monpa ethnic groups of Arunchal, directly referring to southerner, barbarian, and lowland jungle dwelling backwards people from outside the peripheries of the Tibetan homeland which is the Tibetan Plateau. So from very early on, there was a clear distinction between us, you guys were never considered Tibetan or Tibetic in the slightest, there is a reason why we don't allow intermarriage with so called Denjong and Lhopo people, we view them as outsiders, and our forefather had the perception that you guys were inferior. And it is correct of me to say "our religion", it is our religion and our customs you follow, before that you guys were ravaging savages who lived in bamboo huts and consumed dogs and pigs. Let it be known that is our culture you flaunt. The cluster of ethnic groups most akin to the Bhutia are the Kirati (Rai,Limbu,Lepcha), Monpa, Nyishi, and Bhutanese. I have nothing against you personally, but it is impersonation and this dying need to portray yourselves as Tibetan which I find to be so strikingly odd and concerning. Even Ladakhis, who are our closest cousins, who in actuality have every right to claim to be Tibetan don't have this desperateness, perhaps it is because they are from the Tibetan plateau unlike you southern dwellers.

@@sonam1959_ Dear Sonam I have nothing else to comment for the level of hatred you carry for the people residing in Sikkim. I’m astonished by the level of discrimination you carry in your tiny brain towards human from different caste and race. I wouldn’t want to spare a single minute of my time to spare on this debate with you. And by the way there is no desperation to claim for what we already are. Rest please as I said before you’re free to stick your degrading thought process and I have my rights to stick to mine. My only request again you have so much of animosity against us please don’t waste your time writing such lengthy things here in my comment section. Go to a bigger platform and voice your opinion and your rage. I’m speaking for your good. Your voice is going waste here because as I said previously also no one else is here to see your point of view. You need to calm down brother and put your energy in better and positive things. It’s sad the kind of hate and rage you’ve culminated in your tiny heart and mind for yours.

"it is our culture that you flaunt" hmm.. what exactly do u mean by that? You do realise that Tibetan culture is highly influenced by Indian, Nepalese and Chinese culture right? Indian as Tibet has always had close bonds with India, Nepal because of the Nepalese wife of Songtsen gampo and Chinese because of the Chinese wife, wencheng of Songtsen gampo. In that sense Tibetans are flaunting Indian Nepalese and Chinese culture......

Hi Ty for taking out your time for writing a comment. Yes I understand people have this notion but Bhutias are not Nepali. Our ancestral roots lie in Tibet. I hope you get to briefly read somewhere about the origination of Bhutias. Losar Tashi delek🤍🫰🏻

@@sonam1959_ Dear Sonam Taklha thank you for your input. what I’m stating is not my personal view point nor a creation of my imagination. What you are suggesting that Bhutias are similar to Bhutanese and monpas yes there ofcourse is similarity and the reason of this similarity is our ancestral roots are from one country and that is Tibet. We are all descendants of centuries of our ancestors who migrated southwards towards Denjong (Sikkim), Druk( Bhutan) and India during 16th 17th century. If you remember the Blood brotherhood treaty statue or the statue of unity which lies in Kabi Lungtsok which is a significance of brotherhood between Lepcha chief or king Thekong Tek and Khye Bhumsa (son of King Guru Tashi) who was the Tibetan prince from Kham region who had migrated to Denjong in the 1300s. Later in 1600’s due to prosecution of Nyingma sect in Tibet thousands of people from Tibet fled to Sikkim. (The Chogyal Dynasty of Sikkim) the Namgyal Monarchy was formed by the first crown prince of Sikkim Sir Phuntsog Namgyal who was the fifth generation descendant of King Guru Tashi and fourth generation descendant of Khye Bumsa. Our Denjong language is a part of language spoken in the Chumbi Valley region of Tibet which lies closest with Sikkim and also a few parts in eastern Tibet. If you might’ve ever got to notice then you must’ve seen that all the descendants and the members of our Chogyal Dynasty ofiicially speak pure Tibetan language through generations. I would suggest you go through some good books based on the entire history of the tribes of Sikkim and do some research and then we’ll talk. Now I am not stating any tribe or any body superior over any one over here. I’m only stating the facts and history. Let’s not forget that we are all humans at the end with same blood and flesh. Let’s not try to create misinformation or create division over any topic. We’re all human over any tribe caste or religion🙏🏻🤍

@@sonam1959_ P.S. The term Bhutia originates from the word ‘Bhotia, Bhot or Bod’ which means Tibet originally. This term Bhotia was originally started by the britishers to refer to the people who originated from Bhod or Tibet region. The Bhutias or Bhotias tribe is not just in Sikkim but you’ll find them in Bhutan and parts of Uttarakhand as well. I hope you’ll be able to find further more information on a large scale about our own great great ancestors and our origin. Sending you lots of love and light🫰🏻
