Nicholas is so much easier to play then the Farragut, I loved the Nicholas, but the Farragut's high detection and facing tier 8 with radar is so difficult

I mean it doesn't help Farragut has LESS HP (like early Japanese DD HP), higher detection range, same torpedos, and it only gets 1 extra gun turret which only really works if your sideways or kiting away form someone. Hill is a fun alternative to Nicholas, 5 guns, 1 less torp tube (although one of them is centerline so technically the same torps from one side) worse concealment and it lacks this the choise between Def aa and engine boost.

I actually liked the Farragut more than the Nicholas. You have higher detection but 6.4k torps means you can keep your distance and stealth torp slow BBs if they are coming at you. You can still ambush BBs behind Islands too. The extra gun comes in handy for knife fights as well. Im up to the Mahan now which is night and day improvement from both the Nicholas and Farragut though.

I've reset the US DD line twice for research points and the Farragut is the only one I used free xp to get passed because you just can't do much with it in the current meta. Mahan on the other hand was so good both times through it's been ages since I had such a winning streak till the Mahan. Which is weird since I remember hating the Mahan when I first got it.

Reminds me of my last game in the V-170. Double CVs (because of course) on Strait, both had a massive hard-on for me dropping on me the whole time until I torpedo-gunned both of them because they were camping besides each other behind those tall islands. Some carrier players seem to think their sole raison dêtre is to hunt DDs and nothing else.

@Flambass, If you ever have the problem with numbers too close to the edge again - Go to settings , change the UI size from 100% to anything above , Save changes , put it back to 100% - save again and everything should be fine. Good game by the way. :)

Last time I played Farragut, you could still invisa-fire. You firing bloom didn't go all the way out to your gun range. So you could sit at range and pelt the crap out of other ships and they couldn't see you.

maybe not, this could have simply been a case of... those players all had the RDF skill. They KNEW he as there because he was the closest target and kept going after the closest target. This happens a lot with newer players when they first get the skill. Destroyers and cruisers think that because they have the skill its their "job" now, to hunt down destroyers, and take on the closest ships.

you should try to say what you're thinking as you make decisions about positioning or while fighting other ships. One of the biggest problems I had before I learned how to play this game is that I wasn't aware of how much I was supposed to be thinking about

When I get pink it's usually due to friendlies not paying attention and eating my stray torps. Also, anything chocolate = win in my book. Farragut is a good ship, I don't think there are any *really* bad ships in WoWarships. I could be wrong. EDIT: Dayum, they really were after you in that game huh.

@@insanemaniac9317 You may be right there, but it is a T3 BB, so you can't really expect too much from it. Aside from the fact that I couldn't hit the side of a barn even with a full broadside, it is still a fairly solid ship against same tier ships. My opinion, you don't have to agree.

I love this, but asking for replays from new players that you could analyze would probably go further to challenge your assumptions in t5-t7 ships.

I'd say new players that send in their replays are above average at least. Remember that the large majority of players can just remember how their guns work and that you should launch torpedoes on the white marker.

the average dmg is so low because people try to use them as torpedo boats which they are definetely not,i did the same mistake as well , but realised my mistake. i see so many nicholas trying to get into torpedo range when they dont even have CE on their commander.

Tier 6 destroyer with bad concealment, short range torps, at best a six point captain and a user that is obviously new to the game and does not have the slightest idea of what situational awareness is and is only barely coming to grips with how this game works, is obviously not flambass and therefore the stats are not surprising at all. I would hate to think that the point of this video is "oh look how much better I am with 1 million games than you utter tomatoes".

I had Farragut at first as well without CE and just with your 3 smokes and your guns you should at least be able to do 50k dmg. Of course this depends on the game but 20k average is a total joke haha

fairly low level match... picture if this was the 'first time' many of those players had the RDF skill, or had just gotten it recently. You were the first destroyer up front, so everyones RDF pointed... at you... and everyone focused on that.
