Let's Keep Moving With APDA: Innovative Technology for Freezing of Gait

Freezing of gait (FOG) is an abnormal gait pattern that can accompany Parkinson’s disease (PD) as well as other parkinsonian disorders in which there are sudden, short, and temporary episodes of an inability to move the feet forward despite the intention to walk. These episodes can significantly interfere with and affect daily life which can result in falls.
On the next episode of APDA’s series, Let’s Keep Moving with APDA, Innovative Technology for Freezing of Gait we cover the reasons why FOG occurs, and the different types of technology to prevent this from happening. Our presenter, Teresa Baker, PT, DPT, Physical Therapist, Boston University and APDA National Rehabilitation Resource Center for Parkinson’s Disease and special guest, Franchino Porciuncula, EdD, PT, DScPT, research scientist, College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College, Boston University discuss some exciting new research that is giving people with PD who experience FOG some new hope.
Dr. Porciuncula will share some of the latest research related to technology and FOG. Preventing freezing of gait by using innovative technology can contribute to improved mobility, reduction of falls, and improvement in quality of life.

I've a lot of freezing gait. I also have low blood pressure, whenever I turn my head, I feel dizziness. These things happen when I am on time too. I don't know what to do.

Two other devices working on totally non-invasive and safe vibrotactile therapy are coming up: (1). Vibrating Hand Gloves developed by Stanford University currently said to be in clinical trials and (2). CUE1, developed by Charco Neurotech, UK. It is a small round shaped brain stimulating and cueing device which is worn by sticking on the sternum bone. This device is already approved and rolled out to PD patients in the UK, Spain and awaiting approval by FDA in the USA, India and few other countries. In terms of benefits, ease of use and cost, CUE1 giving symptomatic relief in motor symptoms including freezing gaits, seems better of the two. How does the robotic apparel compare with them and most important when will it be available to the end user and at what cost ?

My freezing starts when i pick up an item that is 5 kilos or more . Any help here
