I listened to you the whole video lesson and I understood everything you said pal 'cause you speak very clearly and maybe the fact that I lived in the USA for 8 years helps me a lot and I know almost all the words you used and of course I learned more new words. I laughed for a second there when you said it can be used to describe people as earthy, and of course it depends on the context. But if not, it would sound a bit if not very rude for a Filipino, especially to an elderly. It would mean that they are close to earth, maybe smell like earth or dirt which implies that they are so old they are starting to smell like dirt and be in the dirt, also referring to a circle of life quote saying "we are all going to back to the dirt". I accidentally said it to an elderly when I was a kid, couldn't remember who and I can feel the people in the room staring into my soul, and gave me an earful afterwards lol.
