This week on Lets Learn, we have a look at "Flowers in Your Hair" by The Lumineers.
If you're new to the series, it features me learning songs for the first time on camera and describing my thought process as I go. Hopefully, these videos will help people with learning specific songs, as well as give people an idea of how they might approach learning a song on their own.
Last week's video on "Ho Hey!": • Let's Learn: Ho Hey - ...

This is a fantastic tutorial. I wish all of them were this easy to understand and actually played along with the song so you could actually see what they were talking about thanks a lot.

itsmadimay that was my experience when first starting. Try simple chord songs and licks in order to have a better idea of the fretboard. This and being able to easily chord transition goes A LONG WAY. Just picture(mentally of course) the next chord you're going to play before making your switch...practice this and you're fine-ish. Look up videos for other concepts if you wanna be really skilled *cough guitarsage/Martymusic cough*

Absolutely love this lesson, I'm just beginning and it's nice to learn an easy song that actually sounds like the real deal! If you ever have time, you be able to make a lesson for Siôn Russell Jones 'So Long', I'd be much obliged! :)

You make it looks so easy haha. I am having trouble just getting the picking pattern down. Do you have any tips on how you made the notes sound so pronounced after you going from open to closed?

be sure you do your hammer on with your finger landing right behind the fret bar. as you build muscle memory, you'll also be able to hammer harder and faster, which causes the string to vibrate. takes a bit to get the hang of.

Well explained and played except for: @ 2:38 it's called a C9 chord, which is not the correct chord name. It's a Cadd9 (the D note under his 3rd finger is the "9" note in a C scale.), not C9. A C9 chord would be these notes off of a C7 chord (3rd fret C note root): C-E-Bb-D-G. Nicely played though. I think the Em chord is also an Em7 because you can still see and hear that D note on the 2nd string. Just my opinion. I really do think he's playing it spot on.

Let's Learn with Dave You really played it well. I just kinda heard that and thought it might be good to say something. I've taught the song using your vid, so I'm not trying to be picky without reason. And what make guitar is that? It's beautiful and sounds the same.

hey man, there is a sharp thing in the second chorus (2 0 0 2 0 0) after the G, so the chorus sequence is like: Em - D - G - Sharp Thing - Em - D - G. Anyway, your version is cool, good job.

It's just a bit easier for finger placement (plus it's a Cadd9, not a regular C)
