Can we talk about how much better Korean Unnie has gotten at editing? It’s little things like that so you can tell how much she cares about her channel and her community. She tried harder than any other Korean youtuber and that is why we love her!

2:21 You have to emphasize the Hanja. There is no way around it. To communicate with the world, you have to use Hanja. 歌 = 가 = sing as in 歌舞伎 = ka bu ki (Japanese) singing, dancing, technique Americans know what Kabuki means (more or less). 歌舞伎 = ca vũ kỹ (Vietnamese)

Thank you so much Unnie, I just started learning Korean and I love all your classes! Especially when you call out the Chinese character references, makes it so easy to remember the words(cuz I’m from there). I’m wondering if you can make a video of Korean words that have Chinese roots? Or is there a book that you recommend for such thing? Thanks again!
@Sol-In-Seoul

That would be a long video! Maybe like 50% of Korean words have a clear Chinese root, you can see them using Naver dictionary.

안녕하세요~~~! 크리스토퍼입니다. 감사합니다 선생님 소현씨! 😃 저는 한국말 잘 못해요. 죄송합니다. 😔 I'm trying very hard though. 화이팅! Please feel free to grade my 한국어 and point out any mistakes. lol. So I'll stick to English for the most part for now. I mostly need to build lots of vocabulary! If I suddenly had all the vocabulary in my head I could really get going! But that's a major part of why I'm here! To learn! Right!?! 👍🏻 Haha! I guessed 교가 as "School Route" as in like the way one would go to school. Because with 교 meaning school and I was remembering that 다 is to "Do" and 가 is to "Go" So in my mind I was imagining "교 - 가" "School Go" or "way to go to school". The way you would go to school or The way to school. Hahaha. Well I tried. It seemed to make sense. 😋 I love learning in a way that I actually learn the root of words first and then how to change them, adding things like tense, singular - plural, ownership, conditions and so on, and especially learning what each part of a word actually means and then how it is used. 👍🏻 My favorite example: "안녕하세요" is NOT actually hello! Hahaha! 😆 It's "peace do" and it's said with respect. 안녕 = peace and 하세 = do and 요 shows you are saying it with respect. And it means the same as saying "I intend on a peaceful interaction with you" in a respectful way. It is used the same way "Hello" is used in English. I loved learning it that way! I felt like I was learning Korean on a much deeper level. Like I always say: I don't want to learn to translate in my head as I speak. I want to learn to think in Korean in the first place! 😃 I'm still not fully understanding 학 그리고 교 being school. Because I know "학생" is "student" and "선생님" is "teacher" So it would seem that "학", "생" and "교" have something to do with school, instruction and/or education. "교" was new to me. Thank you! 😁 Hope this helps and thank you again. Much love to you all friends! 고마워요 안니씨 그리고 사랑 친구를~~~! 안녕히계세요.

Very interesting video. In general, Korean hanja pronunciation is very similar to Hakka language). The major difference is that Hakka has tones while Korean doesn't. When you talked about the two different "교", I thought of how people differentiate them in Hakka. I realized there are actually pronounced that same but with differently tones. Maybe you can talk about 학교 and 교학 sometime later, these two words have different 교. The first one is 校 (0:35) and the second one is 教 (0:47) .
