Let's look around Cayton Bay. Parkdean resorts June 2023

So this is a look around the site of Cayton Bay.
We liked the arcade area it was also quiet every day.
The price area was like Haven.

There was some good attractions on the site. But the distance wasn't practical. I still wonder why they put us in such a far spot.

Flipping heck, that's a long way to the complex. Why is the chip shop closed a good number of days? It looks like a nice place. But.... the food outlets seem to be putting the place down and this is early Summer times, I wonder if this is the same times all year around. I feel so sorry that it wasn't a good experience for you. I hope you have a better holiday in the future. Gary had fun with basketball.

The place is nice. But with all the drilling, it spoilt it. My daughter had to be in the right mind to go out somewhere, too. So it was tricky. We had fun on the arcade. Restaurant is a bit expensive but the food was very nice. Enjoy yourselves.

@@loobysworld Thank you for the info, we are hiring a private caravan from an owner and apparently is in a quiet part of the park

@stephenwood9104 Oh, you have to let me know. We were in the Willows. It's known as the quiet area. But as it wasn't finished work as it was new area for 2022/23 so we weren't happy to be told work was happening. Most parks let you know so you can plan days out ahead. The entertainment is very loud, so if got a little one ear defenders help. A lady came up to me asking where I got mine from as her son was hating the loud music. My mum wore ear plugs as she sensitive to sounds.

What kind of holiday park is this. The times for the chippy. Doesn't seem right to me.

It's a canny trek to the complex from that end of the park we've not long got back from staying there, I queried about future bookings and getting a closer caravan to main complex, said due to the spec of van I like to choose they're all sited down the willows with the exception of the odd one or 2 in the rest of the site 🥺

Yes this is like us. We wanted to do a fun experience with a hot tub. But when booking on the phone direct with the company (manger I spoke too) said its all in the Willows the others have gone. So I said okay I can drive to complex. Well we did. Walked like twice (once when complain about not letting me know big work was happening, 2nd time when coming back from a day out) Everyone on the fb page was like it's only 10 mins. No it wasn't we had to walk all around as the through road wasn't finished. We got lost the first time cutting through. It took ages to walk. This is why I like Haven booking, I can choose where to go on the site. Except last week where I was 15mins walk. That was also painful to do. Lucky got the land train one day. It is silly at times the parks extended the area but don't bother putting in extra shop or a smaller complex and arcade. But sadly we didn't like it here. So it be no going back. Just hope Cherry Tree be okay going very soon. Lucky I know Great Yarmouth & if any issues I could try see if any caravans in one of the other 4 parks.

We didn't rate cayton Bay much. First time here, and we felt there wasn't much onsite, and the vans were all crammed in. The swimming pool was tiny and incredibly dirty with bits of the sides flaking off into the pool and so much scum around the outside of the pool. Honestly think we will stay with haven. X

We didn't do the pool. The booking was an issue. Nothing to do on site is true. We did make a bear. But everything else wasn't for Grace. Also, the food courts weren't open every day. Only the restaurant. Grace wasn't fond of the starland crew. We got her the teddies before we went so she got to learn them. But nope. She wanted the seaside squad (still does), so we only stayed for 20 mins. The character was on for 5 mins, then it was the entertainment staff, which was cringe. We have another parkdean resorts in October this be Cherry Tree fingers crossed it be nice. But we really want to go back to Haven, especially Reighton Sands.

@loobysworld we're off to reighton October half term. For a weekend. We love it there. Got a few havens booked for next year, too. I don't know where Cherry Tree parkdean is. We did southview in skegg, but again, we weren't impressed with the lack of site facilities. I think we've been spoiled with Haven, lol. X

@TheJollyOllys Cherry Tree in Great Yarmouth. My favourite holiday town. Haven do seem to have more. I main it even had more merch items. Day shows. Haven just feels better.

Car was easier for me. That walk was painful. People say oh it's 10 mins it's not for a disabled person on crutches who has a curved spine and a number of other health issues.

check before you book then or notify in advance. Its not difficult. Its a large site? Of course some vans will be further away than others. Not rocket science is it.

It's a bit silly, but get static shocks off them. It freaking hurts. Plus just never liked them since I was a kid.
