You are not the chump, the story is more towards that you are the guild owner that have lured the fools to the guild in promise of adventure, just so he can get gold to his guild and pay down the money he borrowed to make it. The fog on newly placed tiles restrict the movement from 2 to 1 You don't gain experience, you have to beat a monster that is your current level or stronger in order to level up, the loot pool the items are from depends on the enemy level. 10:22 the path he aims for change as you place down things, coins or equal level enemies is something he will aim for, and you had another skeleton in there, so you could have saved him from the burn :3

Nah, just a nobody who play the game a bit. I don't know the story that well either, but it should be way closer then NL explanation, if someone did pay close attention then feel free to tell the correct version.

In case you decide to continue playing this, you can manipulate your walk path by placing coins/gems in nearby rooms. Your character will spot the coin and excitedly go towards it instead of its original walk path.

Placing down the treasure lures the hero to that area. So if he could go up or down and you place a coin in the top he would most likely go up.

You can, in some way, guide your dungeoneer trough the dungeon, adding loot (or monsters) to a place where you'd like to go. For example, if you are in a cross shaped room, with a room on each side, it will prioritize Objective > loot > monster > fountain > room next to objective.

You can acutaly control, where your hero goes. Those numbers on cards mean priority, which multiple themselves. So if enemy have (3) and you place gem (3) + mimic (1), your hero will go on mimic. You could see it, when you fight skeleton. If you don't put gold coin on skeleton, it will be 50/50 chance, that you will go first on goblin. And looks like, heroes prioritize golds over fighting (so if in one room is mimic (1) and gold coin (1), he will go pick up coin.

Sorry if got mentioned further down , (although it might have been added in a little patch since this was posted) , but opening the options menu in a dungeon - cog in bottom right, gives an 'Abandon Quest' option :) Dungeoneer still dies, ofc! :D

One big mechanic you missed is that heroes always go after gold, so you can use it to control their movement.

This is really good, to me it resembles Hand of Fate with the dungeon adventure layout and darkest dungeon with the permadeath and base building aspect. I kind of wish there was a real consequence when you lose a character like in XCOM and Darkest Dungeon. I really enjoy the art as well. An easy buy for me.

Hey NL from what I can see in the video it looks like gold can be used to direct the character. Not sure if it's a line of sight thing but I'm sure the money cards have that effect.

The Chump is completely out classed by literally everything. Once you have unlocked anything else, there's no reason to use the Chump ever again. It would have been nice to get an upgrade or two to make him useful again. He's just a tutorial class.

We get that you don't do that many Let's Look Ats because you want variety but there's not that many good NEW games that you can find. But, this is a great game to do such a series on, I really want to see you play this on a 3 hour livestream and make some serious fucking progress.

I've played a few hours of this game, and it does have a few noticeable flaws: Lack of explanation of stats and abilities, pathing should have been explained better, and what I think is the biggest one is the lack of ability to grind and progress. I've hit some difficulty walls when entering the 2nd area of quests, the new quests are very hard but I can't do the completed ones to make them easier. I know about the upgrades/ class perks, but its as if you do the upgrades wrong, it almost becomes unwinnable. Idk, maybe I'm missing something.
