Actually the level of multitasking that NL is doing is quite impressive. Try narrating through a slay the spire run and you will run out of topics in about 2 minutes, because most of the things in your head do not make sense to an outside person. Your need to think a lot about what you even can talk about.

@@Cronos804 StS is actually one of the easiest games to talk over. There's no timer, and he NEVER talks about anything that's not gameplay related. It's all narrating moves, which is a hundred times easier than talking about, say... the moon landing conspiracy theory, or delicious BBQ sauces. Just stream of consciousness'ing what you're doing is a million times easier than talking about anything else. As such, I implore YOU to try it, you might see that it's not nearly as tough as you think it is.

fyi a spin in tetris is where you have a spot that a piece cant go into because your way down is blocked by the mishapen well, but issuing perfectly timed rotations you make it fit anyway and work it into proper place using tons of skill, although they typically don't count unless you manage to clear a line with the move... they are most easially done with the pyramid triangle peice (the T Block) but technically can be done with every piece

A little unsolicited tip for anyone reading this from someone who's won a couple of T99 matches and achieved the highest grade in TGM 1 after two years of practice...try not to leave more than one hole where only one piece can fit. You want to keep your options open, and having to wait for three I-pieces to deal with your board is...not a kind of position you want to be stuck in when the randomizer decides it hates you (which it does, often). For instance, in this video you can see some points where it might've been better to place an I-piece sideways or straight up on top of the stack rather than on one side of a two-block hole with tall sides that could've been filled by a square piece or an L/J piece.

The somewhat serious answer to NL's "What can you do" bit mostly is just having to play faster during the safe bits and keeping a potential tetris prepared to defend the attacks during the scary bits. Once attacks have came in(And are waiting on the left to be build up as garbage) they can't really be raced even by going ungodly fast, but any lines cleared before they appear on your board will also clear them; So defense is mostly coming up with galaxy-brain plans ahead of time to clear a ton of lines within 2-3 blocks of you getting hit.

If you're being attacked by several people, switch to attackers mode. You get a bonus for each person attacking you, so even a single line clear can completely block huge amounts of incoming garbage.

Two simple tips to improve your game: it's ok to leave a 1x1 hole on occasion to maintain speed, if you clear lines quickly enough. Second, occasionally you freeze on a turn because a piece is awkward to fit, speed is better than perfection, just minimize the holes you create to keep a consistant flow.

I saw NL talking to Austin in another video saying the pro controller is better for this than the joy-cons, but I gotta say I think the opposite is true. All these false drops NL is getting here are most likely from the garbage d-pad on the Pro that is well documented to very easily give you false up/down inputs when switching from left to right

Why is it that when NL is being targeted by over a dozen attackers, he stays on 'random', but then switches to 'attackers' after they've already sent garbage and left. Sure, it _can_ be annoying being targeted by a ton of people, but when you can just attack all of them back so they leave... That's on you at that point.

There really does seem to be an issue with it registering up presses twice. I'm seeing a lot of hard drops happening as soon as the previous piece falls. I don't know if it's a hardware issue or if the game is just dumping extra-long up presses into a buffer and letting it clear out, but either way, they need to patch it so every time a piece lands, it clears out the input buffer and blocks up presses for maybe half a second.

Honestly I feel like this game would be incredibly easy cause literally half the community of folks who own a Switch are millennials who have never even heard of Tetris, not to mention there is already a Tetris game that dumps randomly generated lines on the bottom of your screen at even intervals. If you're good at that, you can easily do this. Plus both mindsets work. You can take your time and make 4 lines, or you can whittle people down with a constant stream of lines before they can even react.

The problem I have with the majority of BR games is the down time between action. I always thought Counterstrike was about as slow as a good shooter should be. And even then, you could at least spectate your teammates and give callouts during play (unless the server blacked your screen out). But with most BR games, you have to wait for minutes in a pre-lobby, then a minute to fly over and drop to your preferred location, just to basically flip a coin on whether you find a good gun first, or an enemy nearby finds one first. If you are unlucky, you can go up to 20 mins without actually getting a decent game going. For me, I'd rather play a full TDM match or 2 in that time. I get that it's a bigger rush to win a BR, but I still get a good rush from a 10+ killstreak or clutching a close TDM game, so I still think the cons out-weigh the pros with BR.
