Monty Hall was 88 years old when this episode aired. A little hunched over when he walks, but looks good for his age and still as sly, wily, slick and lovable as ever. Love this clip.

It's my understanding that Monty Hall was consulted by the producers of the current "Let's Make A Deal" on the matter of a host, and he wanted Wayne Brady, and supposedly spent a couple of days with Brady before taping began to give him tips on how to do the show.
@marcpower41674 жыл бұрын
The same with the short-lived 2003 revival, His first choice was Rosie O'Donnell but there was a falling out, then Al Roker but that didnt happen, so at the last minute they went with Billy Bush and he trained him but there just wasnt enough time and Billy wasnt that good......

@chrismc410 I will add Peter Marshall, the longtime host of Hollywood Squares, to that list. Bob Barker tarnished his reputation, in my view, by having an affair with Barker's Beauty Dian Parkinson.

@georgemaster4225 when Louie Anderson got the Family Feud job in 1999. He actually asked them to get Richard Dawson to appear on his first show and "pass the torch" to him, they did offer it to him, but Richard turned it down.

Great memories! Breakfast of cream of wheat watching captain kangaroo,a little exercise with mom and the kitchen chair to Jack La Lane then Monty Hall and let’s make a deal! Then off to walking to afternoon kindergarten ! Great times in America 🇺🇸! Up early wash the face brush the teeth, good breakfast, Mr. Rabbit and Mr. Green Jeans on the Captain,then a little time with mom exercising with Jack,then exciting wins of money / stuff on let’s make a deal, get dressed with a button down shirt with a T tucked in and a pair of PF Flyers and a little dab will do ya Brylcream in the hair and off to school to the pledge of allegiance with a song God Bless America or This land is your land, then real school ( alphabet, number line, and respect for God, Country 🇺🇸, Elders (police , teachers, parents) and others. The best of times! With all the technology we’ve only regressed on so many ways!

Although the current version of the show debuted in September 2009, long after The Price Is Right (which made the switch in 2008, first with primetime episodes in February, then daytime in September) and the two Bell created soap operas had made the switch to high definition, Let's Make a Deal was, along with Big Brother, one of the only two programs across the five major networks that was still being actively produced in standard definition.
