Great tutorial that's cleared a few things up for me. I've signed up for the basic package and can't wait to use it.

I am wondering if you could do a tutorial of a way to get more layers focused on topography. like farm land or hills etc for more rural maps

No problem! Any requests for a different map? Layered maps can be difficult but as you can see it's just a matter of getting the hang of Laser Map Maker and you will be pumping maps out fast in no time.

I'm new to laser engraving and use xTool XCS, would these files work in XCS?
@dab34rs4 ай бұрын
Yes. XCS can use SVG files (and other file types) into the studio. I mainly use Lightburn for all my lasers, but XCS should have no problem with these file types.

Looks good. But not real clear how you did the land portion with the road. Didn't show that part of the engraving. I am assuming you took the tetritiary roads or the primary roads whatever they were, and you put that graphic over the land/water layer. Then you engraved the roads and cut the land. It would've been better if you had shown each layer being engraved and/or cut.

They Adobe style pricing is beyond comical. Good luck.

This pretty much only works for the US. I tried to make a map of a city in another country and almost none of the smaller streets were there and the water area was the entire flood plane, not the actual river itself. I know it's not all their fault, but people need to know the limitations. Laser Map Maker also needs to make new tutorial videos when they make major changes to the user interface.
