I may never make a quilt but I love watching others make them. This was very satisfying and I was totally absorbed. The colours are earthy and really look good

Try a throw quilt from old clothing like jeans, khakis and shirts. How about a rag quilt? Easy. I watched and still watch KZbin quilting channels for ideas. Made a quilt for each family member this last year. Never made one prior. Use it for dog, sofa, car, etc ... Try it! You might love it. Do not worry what it looks like. You are learning something interesting to you!

I never thought about selecting a woven interfacing. Great idea! I did find that my last T Shirt quilt did stretch a little, despite the interfacing. Will try this next time. You know, reusing what you have was what our great, great grandparents did when they quilted!

I love that you made your quilt with up cycled fabric. My husband passed away a month ago. I wanted to keep some of his favorite shirts. I think making a quilt like yours may be a good way to do it!

My BF's dad passed away last year after a long battle with dementia. I wish I had seen this video sooner. His mom gave ALL of his clothes away within just a couple of weeks of his passing, but I think she would have liked something like this.

The little pops of orange color really add some jazz to the colors! I shy away from Minky! It create so much lint. But it is snuggly. Very interesting & beautiful throw!

Wow! While you were cutting out the fabric I thought it all looked a bit dull, but the piece work really made the pattern pop! I love the final result, and the fact that you reused old clothing.

This is gorgeous, and so satisfying on every level! I bet it’s super cozy. As a side note, watching (and hearing) you is similar to when I’m watching Bob Ross… I’m totally immersed and mesmerized. So enjoyable.

What a great use of your clothing - now I wish I'd saved some of my parents clothing, at least their favorites so I could have made quilts for my brothers and son. It's a lovely quilt and I bet it's super warm and cuddly. Thanks for the tutorial Chris, very interesting.

Love your commitment to reusing fabric. I have to admit, when I saw the fabric you were going to use, I thought, Uh...it's going to be very drab. But, Nope! It's fabulous! I think you were wise to make liberal use of the orange and lime green, but not so much as to make it too bright.

I get all my dies directly from the AccuQuilt website, but there may be retailers in your area too.

Why do some squares not need the interfacing? I would love to make a quilt.
@rosecityoriginals Жыл бұрын
I didn’t interface the non-stretch fabrics, but next time I probably would interface the suit jackets to help with the fraying. The jeans for sure didn’t need it.
