This is the best tutorial that I’ve seen in a long time..ever! You make them the way my 85 year old mother taught us, the only difference she makes, is that she cuts the angle just slightly from the big toe downward to the baby toes for each side otherwise the top of the moccs will be “round” , hope this doesn’t confuse anyone

My hubby’s foot has a deep slant from big toe to little toe; so should I cut the top (beaded part) at a slant too?

Thanks for the tutorial, my first pair of moccasins, making them for my 2 yr old son. So far I think I made them too round at the toes. Seems a bit wide too. Next time I will try to angle the toes more so it's not so round at the top. 😂

Where do I find the rest of how to put these moccasins together? Exactly what I needed right now. I gave up on making dance regalia today. I cut deer hide to what I thought it should be, didnt try to put together yet. Dont know if I have the measurements like you have here. I dont know how to do any of this.

Thank you so much! Can you direct me to info on how to clean moccasins with household products? I have some that are lined with sheep and rabbit fur and I would love to clean them properly.
@tripcharbs67094 жыл бұрын
wendy surber I’ve washed my personal in the washer on gentle with a few other things maybe a few dark towels and let air dry near an air vent or outdoors. The leather will stiffen after drying but will go soft again after wearing. Depending on the grade of the rabbit fur you may or may not loose some fur during the wash. Other wise a good ol tooth brush and some water. If they are black and the leather is loosing its color hit it with a little black shoe polish to get it color back

Hi Trip, really enjoyed your videos. A bit confused as bout the vamp, is the length measured to the height of the middle toe or big toe? Also what is the best material to use?
@NinaSchexnider4 жыл бұрын
Hiiiii I've never made moccassins. What material do i need? Where to buy the leather?!
@tripcharbs67094 жыл бұрын
Nina Schexnider depends on where you are located try get the leather from the supplier it will be the best price and they will cut any size you need. Craft shops will mark up a dollar or two and most likely only sell it as a whole piece. Wool can be used and if using fabric use a sewing machine to outline the pattern on the fabric to keep the fabric from fraying when cut.
@NinaSchexnider4 жыл бұрын
@@tripcharbs6709 thank you. I guess Joanns or Micheals it is. I don't know any suppliers.. I'm very excited to start. I will send pics!

Glad you recycled... For a split second I was worried you drove to the store just to buy granola and dumped it all out to get that cardboard. Apparently you got it from someones recycle bin so that is fine. You still wasted paper at the start of the video though so this cancel each other out. Therefore I can neither like nor dislike your video. I will still watch it though but I think I am just going to trace around my sandals. In fact I am so lazy I will probably just tie pieces of leather to my feet or make flip flops. Then Im going to the store to get some granola.
