Very cute designs! Taking a photo and designing over it -- genius move! Now I feel stupid I have never thought of it. 😅 As for the gesso step -- if you use white gesso, it's a great idea. Polymer clay can yellow over time, especially if you use coats. Having the white underlayer keeps lighter parts brighter longer.

Thank you so much! And thank you for telling me about the gesso! I never even thought about the fact that the clay could yellow. Now I know to definitely use gesso every time I’m using clay
