- Late to the party, but @ 9:39, sketch not needed: simply 'Extrude' the face.

- BTW, 'Offset Faces' would be nice (would only require 1 feature, not 2, as w/ 'Extrude') - BUT alas, it drags adjacent faces w/ it. So, that's a no go :(

Hey! Great catch! While Press/Pull or Offset Faces drags the whole chain, extrusion just extends just the target surface. Nice one!

@@nemoengineering - Yes :) - BTW, I never use 'Press Pull'. It's actually not a tool, but a "multi selector": based on geom selection, it picks between 'Extrude', 'Offset Faces', or 'Fillet'. Instead, I simply select the desired tool (via hotkeys). - And, there are some subtle differences / downsides between these workflows. 'Fusion 360 School' KZbinr has 2 nice vids covering this matter.

@@swamihuman9395 Very cool! I'll be sure to check them out! I've always wanted to get into 'speed modelling'; maybe run some live contests :) Could be fun!

Fairly new to fusion 360 having just started using it a few months ago for my Langmuir crossfire pro plasma cutter. I have been designing everything as “solid” and had no idea why anyone would use the “sheet metal” selection. Then I watch this and see the flat patterning ability! Brilliant! I’m shocked to see your channel is so small. Considering the quality of the video I anticipated you have subs in the 10’s of thousands. Great job!

Is there a quick way to remove chamfer or convert it to a fillet?
@nemoengineering
@nemoengineering 7 ай бұрын
Hello! I'm not sure if there's a way to convert, but you can definitely delete the chamfer in a few ways! - If you have the features tree active, find the feature, select and delete it. - If you don't have the features tree (i.e. you just have geometry), you should be able to select all the chamfered faces (holding Shift) and delete them with the delete key. Let me know how you go!

I’m be tried the projection to a sketch with the bend lines about 15 times yet it still won’t work on Send Cut Send. Something has changed in fusion because the drawing doesn’t look anything like yours. Can you refer me to an updated video on how to do this please?

Great! One Q pls, can we make a way to both projection and flat pattern in one drawing page? (like CAD DWG)
@nemoengineering
@nemoengineering Жыл бұрын
Hi Partha! You can absolutely do that! There are two ways: A) In the drawing environment: - Go to the sheet with your folded (projection view). - At the top left, click 'Base View'. - In the dialogue, for the 'Representation', select 'Flat Pattern'. - Place this down in your sheet. B) In the modelling environment: - Make sure the drawing file is open (this part is important for later). - Go back to your 3D model file. - Activate the Flat Pattern (13:22 in the video). - At the top left, change the environment from 'Design' to 'Drawing -> From Design'. - In the dialogue, change 'Drawing' from 'Create New' to the drawing you have opened. When you do this, a new field 'Sheet' will appear. You can then select the sheet in your drawing onto which you want to place the flat pattern. - I cover this in my other video! kzbin.info/www/bejne/omndYouPnamer8k (at 20:52). Have fun modelling! Thank you for watching!
