This whole level is literally just risky jumps over and over again. The most agonizing experience in games. And funnily enough, after playing it a few times I realized that the best way to get it done is by going as fast as possible, except on the rolling/moving platforms. Oh yeah. This for the first part only. The rest is still agony.

This level took me HOURS I actually forgot about the striped box section It's funny that you forgot you could use other bombs besides lil buddy because they're ALL I used I had them fully maxed so when I threw them at enemies it pretty much instakilled them, along with being a distraction it helped tremendously in the final Girl Power section The part that gave me the most trouble though was the first obstacle section that was HELL WORLD congrats on beating it!

The level isn't even that hard its just that throughout the whole game you've had no experience whatsoever with the specific mechanics they expect you to use like making a very tight jump or jumping to far or not far enough i died mostly to parkour. The level is very tedious making it very frustrating.

The fact that THIS stage is where the game decides to test your skill with those new mechanics is honestly almost breathtaking, and not in a good way.

It's just it doesn't tell you to continuously do it, which is something I love about this story mode compared to being locked to a gimmick per level. When I saw this level had checkpoints I literally screamed in joy. That was probably the longest level in splatoon history, and the ones who beat it really are splatoon pros. I was so afraid I'd lose every progress (I couldn't go even through the first checkpoint) that when I had to go out I left my switch on, with splatoon 3 on it. (Crime.) When I made it I couldn't believe it, and well, it was fun after all... Y'all, admit it, we were all Sulk when we were doing this level. Good job btw!

Apparently people are comparing this to inner agent 3 from octo expansion. So here is my take on the level, since 3 is my first game, and I never played octo expansion Phase one (platforming): not the hardest by all means, more so takes practice to get to know the jumps. The rotating cylinders aren’t bad, you just need to jump as squid/octopus and land as inkling/octoling form. The mini gun enemies just splat bomb them, it works, or small fry one and shoot the other, or just swim jump past them and kill them both. The wall cling part (where the wall moves to the next section) is more tedious than anything. Ink rail part just take your time, and don’t worry about the sniper if your quick enough. Hardest part is the conveyer belt of stuff, ink it before getting on, will help you a bit. Be sure to ink the exit wall Phase two (target practice): takes time to learn it. Hardest parts are the triple rail and falling end and the very end. Get good for the triple rail, and use a burst bomb to pop many on the falling end Phase three (soakers and rockets): The only section with a checkpoint. Part one is easy, just worry about the mini gun around 2/3’s in this part and you are fine. The soaker block bridge take your time, as it isn’t disappearing as bad as you think. Throw small fry again after the bridge shows to buy yourself more time. Part two is also easy. First section is easy, don’t play dumb. 2nd part, shoot the sprinkler and or soaker block to stop the source of the enemy inking the soaker block wall, only to then shoot that soaker block wall only to remove it, not make it your own Final phase (the final battle): this part can be broken up to 3 parts, and is the one mainly compared with IA3. How hard is it really though? Part one is a joke. No enemy sub weapons or specials makes it a cakewalk. Don’t play dumb here. Burst bombs into hero shot quickly melt enemies. Mind the roller that eventually spawns though. He can hurt if you aren’t careful Part two, the enemies get sub weapons. There are curling bombs, splat bombs, and auto bombs. This means that more ground will be enemy ink, so burst bombs are good to help you get ink of you feet to get the fuck out. Just don’t get cornered or you are dead. Also specials begin spawning that aren’t splashdown. Some like ultra stamp, ink jet, and maybe even trizooka will get you killed. Don’t use em Part three, welcome to the real show, as enemies will use specials. Some aren’t the worst like big boubler, ink jet, and wave breaker (just jump), there are a few that might be a problem. Ink storm if you get caught in it will kill you as your mobility will be slow as a snail. Even worse when that armor breaks (by the way, if your armor breaks mid fight, you are slow af until it comes back, so rip). What is worse though are the tenta missiles. While only 4 per volley, there are multiple tenta missile enemies. Kill them FAST. By the way. I’m not the best or the worst at combat, but tenta missles do spawn relatively late, after triple ink strike, and that can be used to kill a few enemies. Just use it wisely. Ink vacuum also spawns after this, this is basically a shield for you, really useful. By the way, I did see some KZbin videos on inner agent 3. So let’s look at the differences IA3 has 5 phases where as this has only 3 IA3 is only one enemy (a boss but only one entity to focus on), while here you get swarmed you have no specials against IA3 unlike here If you ask me, the two fights seem very similar. IA3’s ink just seems to be easy to punish, bubbles might not be that bad, I never played splatoon 2. Auto bomb launcher seems like hell, mother ship tenta missiles seems like the use for splat bombs, and splash down finally just don’t play dumb when IA3 is using it. Whichever way you look at might make you say one is harder than the other. But nevertheless. Splatoon 3 DLC is going to be hard af I bet, so see you in hell trying to beat that

at least on the last part you didnt kill the last octo just to get screwed over by the ink storm they placed just before shooting you twice, causing you to die as they tease you with the ending and make you restart the level. I never look at ink storm the same.

The hardest parts for me were Zone 1 and Zone 4. Zone 1 was just so long and required me out right learning about the squid charge and stuff on the fly. Which I don't mind. I've played Celeste and it also teaches you advanced things post-game. And that final section before the super jump to the Zone 2 was brutal in that you totally can't tell how fast those platforms are actually going until you jump down. Then you inevitably fail and have to spend 10 minutes going back. Assuming you don't mess up. The Octolings . . . -shudders- I once got splatted by the final Octoling at the same time I splatted them. Suffice to say I left my switch on sleep mode overnight and took a break. Then came back to retry Zone 4 the next morning. Also Several of the canned specials just slowed you down. I refused to use the tri-shot one or the jetpack when those got me killed every time. Ultra Hammer had its uses though.

Hardest part for me was the octoling part, mostly because I keep thinking their AI is as bad as it was in 2. But they really improved their AI in-between games to the point I was struggling, and I don't really struggle with hero mode that often. Spent 5+ hours on it yesterday. Gave up because I kept dying non-stop at the end. Any tips also send help lmao update: I passed it in less then 20 mins after taking a week or two break from it. Turf wars are much harder so it helped build my reaction time! Thank you for all the support and suggestions!

I may not be of much help but I reccomend using rapid bombs (those that look like water balloons idk what they're called in the english version)

I used curling bombs in the last area to constantly escape and try to take on whichever octoling ended up alone. If they started to group up on me I'd curling bomb to the other side of the map. It worked pretty well for me.

I myself decided to forego picking up specials and instead rely on good old splashdown. Don't search out the enemies just splat em when they get too close. If there's a lot of them coming at once it's the perfect time to splashdown on them. Some of them have really dumb AI once they lose track of you and they basically stop moving completely so if none are attacking you it's a good time to ink some ground. Be wary though that the octolings that spam specials have somewhat better AI than the ones before it, so you'll just kinda have to survive. Maybe use curling bombs to escape like Boney said.

You know i didnt find the level that hard it took me a few tries (5) before i could beat it. But when my friend came over and tried it (They're on a competitive team) it took them almost an hour.
