I love how you explain things as you go. Even when I may know something it grounds it in my little brain. Also, Alaska girl here. Northern lights are truly the most spectacular thing I've ever seen. Sometimes they are the colors of the rainbow dancing across the sky. Amazing!

I’ve seen the Northern Lights 3 times here, in Eastern Ontario, Canada. They truly do make a noise. I remember it as kind of a deep vibration; like a whomp, whomp, if you can imagine! I can’t wait to try this painting!

You are a wonderful teacher. Lots of people can paint and make a video... Not everyone is able to instruct the way you did here. Love it! I learned a lot from just one of your videos. I've watched hours of other tutorials and didn't learn nearly what I did here.

😂 I’m watching it before I paint (my usual). The topic of Northern Lights comes up and Keenan pulls his OH SO HILARIOUS KEENAN SELF and tells us you can hear them. I’m as wowed as Sarah….😂🤣 then with baited breath, waiting for more, Keenan…🤣🤣 ..says, “That’s all I know. I can’t expound.” Typing it doesn’t even begin to relay how freaking hilarious that was!!!! I’m sitting on my couch with my pouchy behind my head. When Keenan said that, I literally laughed out loud, so hard and sudden that my laugh was like I spit out my drink. 😂🤣 THERE AREN’T ENOUGH EMOJI’S! I’m still LOL!!!! Did I mention my watercolor paper is in my lap. Yeah, I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. I love my peeps!!!!!! 😂♥️🤣

This was fabulous, thank you. I did mine with a red tent and made a shadow of someone kneeling inside the tent. Keenan, Stranger Things is really popular for boys ages 10-15. You might enjoy it (not that I'm saying you are that age or mind set, but you are still a kid at heart). My favorite thing about the show are the retro early 80's costumes/set designs.....and of course, the hair!!!!! What were we thinking back then, with that HAIR??

@elisabruxvoort21904 жыл бұрын
My husband who is from Alaska describes the sound of northern lights as a weird sixth sense that only some people can hear (he can't). He has been inside and sometimes someone will say "oh- Aurora is out tonight" and sure enough, they go outside there it is!

@karliepatterson28034 жыл бұрын
My experience with Northern Lights did not include sound. We were up in the tip of the Keweenaw in Upper Peninsula of MI on lake Superior. The Lights were a beautiful dancing green and made no sound unless the large lake waves over powered their sound. IDK, but we heard nothing. Still very beautiful and other worldly.

I live in Alaska and you can see the lights here. There is an area people talk about near the “power line pass” hiking trails that crackles when the light are out. It kinda sounds like static electricity to me, maybe that’s just in my head though with the power line pass and all. It’s been super cold when I’ve been out “light hunting” as we call it. When we were driving here through Canada we saw them so bright the while horizon was green. Looked like I had driven into an x-files episode. Sooo pretty but kinda creepy.

What are you using to press the lines through the carbon paper? It looks like a pen or pencil, but is it? What is that tray you're using to mix the colors on? Can I use a plate?
@LetsMakeArt4 жыл бұрын
Sarah prefers using a felt tipped marker so the lines are not too dark. You can use a pencil or pen as well, just press lightly. Any flat ceramic item would work. Several of our group members on Facebook have found great egg trays at goodwill stores for this purpose.

I went to exactly 20 minutes . I had the sky, the water and the yellow flap for the tent and left it. When I got back I saw a small yellow sailboat in a huge expanse of water and sky. Now I’m trying to decide whether to add trees and earth or just leave it and maybe add another sailboat
