So wait, Gary says an expired domain doesn't help. But within a minute later, John says that a domain that you purchase has a bunch of bad links for the past 57 years would take a long time to fix for Google to be okay with it. First, how are bad links bad for a site now? That infers that negative SEO is possible. What happened to the mindset from Google that bad links aren't bad they just don't help? Second, if bad links hurt you and it will take months to fix then why wouldn't good links help and give you a months boost? What happened to the mindset that when there's a new registrar, new content, new physical address, etc. that Google sees that the domain changed hands and all SEO resets to zero? The right questions aren't being asked or answered. The answers are too muddy. If you are going to take the time to do these, be clear. Be direct. Be precise. Be concise.
