I've always heard it said that the smaller the boat, the more often it gets used, and even with my three boats ranging from twelve to twenty-one feet, it's been true for me, and I hope you get to enjoy that phenomenon, yourself, very soon. All the best, KP!

KP, and others: Nick Schade just did a CLC kayak build with his neighbor as the learning party. It is very in depth and full of tricks that you might only get after building many boats in this method. Worth a view. I got boats to build.

Good to see you back! I helped a friend build a CLC kayak kit back in the late 90s. Agree no special tools needed other than a lot of clamps. So... many... clamps... Mainly the little spring style.

Sorry to have missed you at the wooden boat show; I was there Friday with beautiful weather! My son and I are currently about halfway through building a Noreaster Dory kit from CLC. I’m very impressed with how well the pieces fit together and how quickly it looks like a boat! Great fun, and very rewarding!

Amazing company. I built a Chesapeake 18 kayak about 25 years ago when I lived on the Connecticut River. Great project and great boat. Enjoy the process.

It is, that puzzle piece shape. But it works! The plywood is so thin that a scarf could not join the plank halves.

That very annoying noise is from having flat straps that vibrate when the rushing air passes over them. If you put twists into straps it goes away. I found that out transporting my kayak on the roof. :)

The summer outdoors is my solution so far! 😂 two fans are in, but I haven’t enclosed them in the window frames yet. My big box fan fried itself when I plugged it into the one working outlet - killing both the fan and the outlet.
