The Age Of Wonders series has been a mainstay in tactical turn-based strategy games for years. Age Of Wonders 3 continues along those lines in an absolutely stunning and beautiful game that will have you twitching, missing sleep, and saying "Just...1...more...turn..."! Age Of Wonders 3 has become one of my favorite games of all time and I can't wait to showcase and just get my hands on it again for all of you here at The Phreak Show. I know many of you loved my Heroes Of Might & Magic series so far, this should feel different, yet familiar, and no less amazing. I really hope you enjoy this rebirth of one of my first attempted series. I hope you all are ready for this....Round 2, Fight!

What Is Age Of Wonders 3?
Age Of Wonders 3 is the pinnacle of tactical turn-based strategy games, with a unique blend of Empire Building, Role Playing, Warfare with elements from the 4x genre, and tactical turn-based combat, there's plenty here to sink your teeth into. From random map generation not only for single-player, but also multiplayer, including co-op, to the well written campaigns and two expansions, to community created scenarios, campaigns and more from the Steam Workshop. It's truly amazing. :)
Long ago when I was working hard and not getting noticed (hey...that sounds familiar) Triumph Studios were kind to me and sent me Age Of Wonders 3 and I've been grateful ever since. The game is absolutely top notch, has gone down as one of my top 5 games ever, and I love playing it even to this day. The hardest part about coming back to start the series over was having to stop after the first episode! Thank you Triumph Studios, you guys rock!

Only just now getting into this game. Glad I found this Let's Play. The game tutorial leaves the player in the dark a bit. Werlac starts off by saying, click this, click that, then he says Build a Store House...which the player does...then nothing. He doesn't respond to building it which leaves the player thinking the tutorial is broken. I was like "Now what?" ... "Werlac?". Damn.

Oh, and another thing. In the first battle for the gold mine with the Independents. They didn't move and I wanted them to come to me. So I just kept maneouvering my units out of range of them. After 5 rounds, the game stated that Sundren had died and gone back to the Castle. The battle was lost, but Sundren was still there in the same place. Clicked next turn and did the battle again. Man, the game testers on this were hopeless. :)

for mods, a must have is racial class unit reskin its a really nice visual upgrade for class units. mods that work very well together are racial heritage mod, hero development mod, triumphant heroes (+patch for hero development mod) and extra support units. hero professions mod is nearly finished (just a matter of days) and a fine addition too. cave lightning change and alternate battleflags are a nice ones too. sadly many of the other bigger mods are not complete or want to much and do weird stuff. the mods i suggest are all complete, well balanced and add nice new things to the base game like new units or 3 subclasses for each hero type ( with hero professions mod it add 3 additional subclasses for each race which means a total of 567 different hero setups possible)

+Rastayeti666 It sounds like you've done quite a bit of searching and digging through the mods. I appreciate the suggestions! I'm always one who is afraid to mod things because half the time it breaks stuff. Also, I generally want to let what the developers have done/accomplished/made shine FIRST, and then add some additions later on. Chances are I'll add mods later on, or at least try them out then. Did that remake of Age Of Wonders 1 campaign mod ever get finished?

as far as i know its not finished, the last update for most of them was september last year so maybe the limitations of the editor broke it. racial class unit reskin is really a must have, no gameplay changes just diverse the visuals for class troops dependent on race, its really a big visual upgrade without changing the game

Didn't expect this, hope it works out to your satisfaction. Sundren couldn't cast a spell that turn because you had used her attack action to wreck some helpless barrels.

Their magic users they speak in regal tone etc etc etc. That's why we need to build a virtual wall. A fire wall if you will. No one will build a better fire wall than me. I can promise you that. If these elves want to come into our stories they must adhere to our standards. No more of this regal elven language. They should speak common. That is our language and they need to speak it. Also the elves that do come in our stories should be tracked and monitored even when the game is not on. Also some of the elven shrines in games need to be closed down. I mean what are they doing in those shrines? Practicing magic? The elves have taken our stories for long enough. Oh and yes the elves are going to pay for this wall. Because I am a great negotiator. I can do this.
