Night Shift

4 жыл бұрын

Revell's T-90 in 1/72 scale is not the most breathtaking model ever made, so I think it's an ideal project to test some rather unusual painting and weathering techniques. Well, each method is gonna be the same as usual, but we'll switch their order - for example we'll start with some mud!
My goal is to figure out a more time efficient approach to weathering while keeping the results as good as possible, so that we can finish more scale models and have more fun with the hobby!

Man your channel was randomly recommended to me yesterday with the first T-90 video and I'm genuinely shocked at your production value considering how few videos you have. I love your content so far from what I've seen, I'm really looking forward to more! Also I hate to be that guy, but if you could continue to do more modern vehicles I'd super appreciate it. I know it's sacrilege, but I've never been that interested in WW2 vehicles, so anything post-war is super interesting to me.

Considering the Revell T-90 is meant as more of a table-top game piece than a realistic miniature, you have shown how painting something well, even with just 2-3 different colors and a good wash, can really make almost anything look a LOT better (maybe even better than it should?).

The algorithm brought me here, but I have to say I really rather liked your mentality of 'making things over the top' to sell the appearance of a material or an effect on something so small, that's a really fascinating feature that makes a lot of the extremely detailed minis and models I've seen make a lot more sense. I'd actually still prefer a brush or a sponge on flatter surfaces, but these more complex models are easier to chip with HS as the paint wear always starts around edges. Maybe the sweetest spot will be to combine all 3 methods together.
