So, what can I say about today's episode in relation to the novel? 3:30 Time to talk about that Arrow Storm. This should have happened before the Wind Scroll quest. The biggest short-term threat to the Southland is Cao Cao's army, but long term, Zhou Yu knows Liu Bei is developing into a major rival to Sun Quan. He needs the alliance with Liu Bei's army to save the Southland but wants to ensure Liu Bei can't supplant Sun Quan later. He realizes Liu Bei's greatest advantage is Zhuge Liang; by disposing of him after he's ensured the Southland's victory against Cao Cao, he can resolve both problems. To this end, he summons Zhuge Liang and gives him an order: produce 100,000 arrows within ten days (an impossible task) or suffer execution. Zhuge Liang knows what he's up to but replies than he can have the arrows after merely three days. Zhuge Liang immediately gets to work, not making arrows, but making straw men* and loading them onto boats. A master meteorologist, he knew the river would be blanketed with thick fog on the third night. He waits until then to launch his boats, then has the crews bang their drums as they get closer. The enemy troops, camped on the north shore of the river, see the silhouettes of the boats and report an impending attack. Cao Cao replies by ordering his archers and crossbowmen to...well, you've probably figured out the scheme by now. On the way back, Zhuge Liang has his crews yell out their thanks to Cao Cao for the arrows. It's important to be polite when someone loans you something, and to return it promptly. *Much like people who get into political arguments with me. HEYO! 6:18 A rare exception to the "news travels faster than you do" rule. 7:08 I don't know why you deliver the Arrow Storm to Zhang Song instead of Zhou Yu, but as I said under Episode 23, I don't know why that guy is even here. 7:55 Pang Degong, as far as I can find, is only mentioned briefly, as one of Sima Hui's closest friends and Pang Tong's uncle. 7:59 Pang Tong, by this point, is already in the Southland and acquainted with Lu Su. Sima Hui's not involved in this part of the story. Instead Zhou Yu tells Lu Su to get Pang Tong's advice on how to defeat Cao Cao, which leads into this next part of the game.

I got Destiny of an Emperor for NES for Christmas when I was 11 or 12 years old. I love that game and played it more times than I can count. Never knew they made a sequel. On a sidenote, I just finished playing ROTK 8 Remake on the Switch and loved every second of it.

Sadly DoaE's sequel - this game - was never released outside Japan. HCBailly's playing with a translation patch. Enjoy, this is pretty rare and thorough content.

Zhuge Liang looks to be a more epic choice in profile. He may be somebody’s ancestor maybe like James Tien.

I wonder if the "Sabres" are actually "Glaives" or not.

I'm not absolutely certain what that weapon type is. Neither the game nor a translation of the instruction manual specify. A walkthrough I researched referred to them as Sabers/Sabres, and one translation for a type of Chinese swords was Saber, so that's what I went with. Given how broad the icon is, perhaps Greatsword would be a better term.
