@@luckyduckfarms591 They put those drops on him originally because sometimes you couldn't get out of his pit there. That was a fucking bug at release, and they never updated his drops after that though. He is basically guaranteed to drop 1, but we all know this game has these issues.

Once you get comfortable with vanilla D2 you should try the path of diablo mod if you feel like playing online, alot of stuff was changed slightly so spend a bit of time learning the original game so you understand it more

I'd love to see a walkthrough like this with the other characters. I usually play a sorc first to get gear for other future characters, but its nice to see how to get through the game without relying on a mules and trading. So many guides out there only focus on endgame and assume you're getting the best gear or just stumbling upon specific uniques. Its impossible to follow. Really like this kind of content as well as the meme build runs you've been doing lately. The donation alerts aren't that annoying honestly and as long as you can get your points out there it is more than good enough. Also I had a question. As a streamer, do you get tired of being asked the same question over and over again?

But nicely done MrLlama, you showed that us normal people can beat the game not so dependant on gear, just by doing good resource management, knowing what to kill and avoid, and where to put your talents effectively. @@NewSorpigal1 I really don't think that is a relative comparison. The graphics are terrible by todays standards. The movement is terrible by todays standards. I've played arpg's long enough to know that the tactile feel of the combat is of paramount importance. Losing yourself in the lore and aesthetics is a close second. Neither of which is possible in D2. Maybe in the 90's but not today. Our brains understand the difference, hence my fascination.

Really loving this series and I've been following along with a couple characters now (hammerdin, sorc and amazon). For this one I saw the issues llama had in hell mode though, and went with his recomendation to go for a hybrid build instead. I maxed lightning fury, charged strike, frozen arrow and cold arrow with a couple points into pierce. Got a melody runeword on swap (a double bow without any + to bow skills. Wouldve been MUCH better if I had found +1-3 bow skills) Got a 3socket ptopaz helm and wealth runeword armor for MF while doing runs Farmed NM Baal until lvl 70 and Act 1 Pits + Andariel until 78 to help get my bow damage up (used the bow A LOT in hell, so was worth it) Found 2 sets of rare javs with +2 skills and +30-40 IAS Shopped +2skills+20IAS at NM anya for both bow and jav, and swapped around later depending on the area I was in. Replaced the Peace runeword with Smoke for extra resists. Found decent rings and amus: raven frost from andariel and large resists on other ring + amu (raven frost is great since then you also can't be frozen while using bow) Also found Aldur's boots with 50 fire res and some resist charms Shopped for 100 health belt Found a Whitstan Guard which helped a ton with max block as java (worth noting that resists on shield and great since then you dont have any when you swap to your bow) Finally I got some decent gear for my merc to help tank for me (cryptic axe with strength runeword, thieves helm and duriel's shell armor) But with this setup I was able to progress quite nicely through the game, hopefully that helps somebody!

Hello! Thank you for this magnificent work, I took a speedrunner approach, without farming. Just countess on normal and nightmare, didnt killed a single boss more than once. I was playing plugy tho so everything was in my chest. So my thoughts about a game: nightmare was easier than normal. Hell was a fking HELL. I had so much fun with ancients, I didnt have any armor/helm or runes that I could give my merc, he was dying so quickly. I respeced to max valkyrie at ancients which killed me maany times, I runned ancients way like 20 times this game, on succesful run I dropped horadric cube and forgot to take >

Tip for Javazons: Nightmare Act 2 defensive Merc (with some decent weapon / lightning res) & Lvl 17 Valkyrie (with extra skills) will get you through any lightning immunity heavy area safely and will also help deal with the ancients. If you're lucky with your lightning res / or even have some absorb (lightsaber, thundergods for example) you can also add in extra damage with your lvl 1 spear skill. Not a lot of extra damage but it will help in case you don't have a teleport ready. I prefer to hit hell with lvl 70 and thus have a few more skills to put into valk at that point.

Give you the option of what class you want to play any given day and gives us the grind to end game builds on all characters :) just a thought. Love your content!

Ya Act 3 hell might be the hardest part of the game for the amazon. Definitely a time to upgrade gear, take it slow, get a merc/valk strong enough and walk through it slowly, etc

this is what i comment above, don´t kill anything, my baba 96 lvl kicks ALL asses, killer souls, burning/black souls, Lords of the Death or Moon, viperine magus, skeletons, anykind of undeads, beatles etc. and sometimes i'm alone because my merc dies. I use just 1 portal pergamine and 4 mana pocions, 8 life pocions and 4 purple full pocions.

I loved the Lets Play, even though it still felt a bit like a speedrun. But I guess that was expected with a character using flat dmg skills. I would really like to see you do the same with a wolf/bear druid. I thing it would be really interesing to see what weappons and runewords you will use, as the druid would depend much more on his gear.

Thanks for your Lets plays - Just played through the game my first time SSF with PlugY ... Though hell reminded me why i always stopped playing this game in hell.... In my Opinion the Immunities are the one of the worst game design decisions of all ARPG history. Its just not fun having to skip alot of mobs and needing gearswaps to clear at least a few immunities + having to reset areas over and over. I Know there are a few runewords that can deal with that, but until you get them youre anyways through the game already. The Hell Portion of my own Playthrough was just a "i wanna finish this" kinda thing, and it was not nearly as fun as Nightmare was. I Ended up playing Hybrid with the Cold-Damage-Arrows but took years to kill mobs with that. The immunities dont add difficulty, they just kill a lot of the fun there would be without them. In total it was very fun, but the endgame of D3 and PoE are way more enjoyable. I Hope there will be a good endgame without immunities in D4. Yeah, Hell is between boring and frustrating. Idk what they had in mind, but then again it's not like Blizz could foresee that twenty years later we'd be grinding this game like crazy. I guess they either didn't really test the sp portion of game having in mind that multiplayer might be more important, maybe they were unable to make the game challenging in some other way. idk. But it still sucks.

First time passed all difficulties without single death in a single player PvM - solved this by having javazon. I was inspired by your video :) Did couple things differently: I first maxed lighting fury and charged strike, then maxed out valkyire, after valkyire was maxed put the rest to lighting strike to further boost fury and charged strike. Spent some time to get Sanctuary off of 3-socket dragon shield and found some immortal king equipment that I took along the way (mostly for increased strength, resistances, IAS and 40% walk speed). Didn't find the Titan's Revenge, so I had to stick to some random Matriarchial Javelin with +2 to javelin skills and a massive enhanced damage boost - and that's it! Immortal king gear is what helped me to equip it (gauntlets, belt and boots). As far as other stuff is concerned - still had crappy lore and stealth I got early in the game. Instead of holy freeze I took Might merc (it had +skills on his gear to increase an effect of might aura) - and that adds a lot of damage to physical attacks of my maxed valkyire and javazon, so even Ancients weren't that big of a deal. I also used decoy a lot to lure enemies to it first before touching merc and valkyire. In the end of the day, I think it is due to Sanctuary and its massive defensive boost that I didn't die - as I didn't pay attention to enchanted monsters and a few times it was close - all I had is a red line on the health bar. It is unfortunate that single player doesn't provide access to thunderstroke and spirit. Is there actually any chance to get Titan's in non-ladder setting?

This might be stupid answer but i was looking into diablo 2's excel tables and a thing about curses is: they have just higher level in higher difficulty. The longer duration corresponds a bigger necro skill level, and a skill level does not exponentially grow between NM and hell (i do not remember the exact values) so i think a reason to be "cursed for the rest of the run" there is mainly because of larger amount of bosses and 3 (4 for SE) mods on bosses.

@@ShredzZzZ currently it's a nova sorc - but at the end of act 2 on NM, im not dealing enough dmg. Gear isnt that bad - Lore, Stealth, shield with good resists etc. Also i've got a lot of FCR

*Attention guys: Running from Act III town to the spider forest portal takes more than 2 hours and died more than 30 or more times, with the same gear Mr Llamasc used. When character holds a teleport staff without shield it dies very fast.

I was just thinking in my current Amazon game, Lightning Strike is way more damage (due to 8x higher synergies) than Lightning Fury and is potentially better for multiple monster kills in one shot because you get just as many chain lightning hits as you get lightning bolts, AND the chain lightning targets enemies instead of just lightning bolts in an expanding circle. The damage can be more than twice as high, just from a pure damage standpoint, not even taking the possibility to hit more monsters into effect. Now, I'm just about to start Hell difficulty, so maybe it's just not viable to be in melee range for your monster group-killing skill instead of throwing a jav for Lightning Fury ... but I guess I'll find out Edit - Oh and at level 18+ it's less than half the mana cost, too Ok, finally, 6+ months after I first learned about runes.txt to get ladder runewords ... I finally caved to add it. Now I can get ladder rune words! Hopefully, this is a good thing. I can still remove the changes. Also, since I did it in your nightmare run, I'll post your insane drops (insane odds, not necessarily based on how good the item is) in hell, too: Wizardspike, 1:38k ... (I skipped most of act 3, so didn't see most of the drops there) ... Nightsmoke, 1:9k ... Iratha's Cuff 1:9k ... Djinn Slayer 1:22k ... not as many crazy drops in hell Also, one time farming (or trying to) Baal, I rolled at least 40 straight runs with souls. I gave up trying that day after the 40th attempt with souls. (It wasn't 40 straight lvl 2's with souls, but every lvl 2 without souls, I'd have souls in the chamber)

Two words: Next Delay. That being written, I would like to switch between LF and LS for your reasons, except that on sp-no-ladder-rw you need to have a secondary attack. After spending 40 point into PoJ and PlJ, I got only 16 or so for LS. So it's weak, and next-delayed... And yeah, I really like Plague Jav. With full synergy it kills really fast, as most of LIs have low hp. Then only gloams remain...

Fastest route to lvl 99 (if lvl95 is your goal, just follow this but do Ancients on lvl94). 1. Do not do Hell Ancients until lvl98 2. Do tons of Chaos runs (mostly players1, but for Diablo players7) until lvl98 (or to lvl99) 3. Do tons of Nihlathak runs until lvl98 (or to lvl99), without dying of course (not for all builds is this a good option!) If you don't want to use /playersx command, farming XP Shrines will be a thing. This will still take insane amount of time... If you are on bnet, whole another story, get a team that will kill seal bosses in Chaos and Baal waves 1-2-3 for you then you join and do the Diablo and wave 4-5-Baal killing and then you just jump games that your teammates are creating. Also Ondal's Wisdom can help if it fits your charbuild and a good Annihilus charm.

Found sigons boots, belt, gloves in NM. Gives fire/cold res, IAS, faster run/walk, 50mf... not bad for running through NM.

Call it what you want, but I can't seem to get plugy to work on my "diablo2 laptop" but hero editor and go mule work fine. So what I do is use hero editor for a few things and go mule to transfer stashes. I use hero editor to create and design things like insight and enigma, however I find the runes or gear before I do that. I also use hero editor for my holy trail because I have to export all of my items into a grail folder because I can't hold them in my stash. I will however allow myself to loan an item or two if I need it. I always use a javazon for my grail because sorcs are boring in my opinion, which you NEED an infinity, I just can't seem to beat hell without one. And since javazons cannot stack MF well I might add 100mf to a couple charms that are in my stash so that I can effectively magic find on my favorite character. It can be really fun to mess around with putting random skills on characters that they don't normally have but if your just building op busted gear that can't even spawn I don't see how that can be fun.

Llama, you are the god of D2, the lord of knowledge and the king of speedrunning... But why arent you right clicking when you buy something in shop? I see that you dubble left click and get that "Buy: xxx, Gold: xxx, yes/no" messeage. Is it some keybinding that trigger this or is it just a bad habbit?
