You asked for it so here it is. Year Eleven begins our next series of Kingdom Death: Monster with the inclusion of one or two aspects from the 1.5 update.
In this lantern year Sam, Lilith, Eve, and Joshua are on the hunt for an intimidating level two white lion. If you thought the last year was intense you ain't seen nothing yet!

A crit is a crit, doesn't matter what your luck is at.

No. A survivor with -1 Luck, or attacking a monster that has +1 Luck, can only crit on an 11 or higher. (i.e. they can't.) That's literally what Luck is for; determining the critical hit threshold. *Source:* Official KDM Site FAQ. _"If a monster has 1 luck, then a survivor will have to have 1 or more luck for critically wounding to be possible."_ (The flipside however, is that I believe the book says a survivor's attack/wound roll of 1 is _always_ a failure. Chalk it up to _Rule of Death._ 💀)

I have to say, this game is consistently, incredibly climactic. Even "trivial" fights can be brutal life or death fights. I don't want to spoil the outcome of this with a careless comment, but, I just wanted to say that it was incredibly thrilling. Honestly, I need to stop watching these as it makes me want to buy the game, BUT I CAN'T HELP IT! D:

You guys should 1. try not to attack the Lion from the front, so you won't suffer Grab on the reaction that causes the Lion to full move forward. 2. consider using Dash to avoid Cunning. (There's a Survival opportunity on the Cunning card.)

Wait, you're using expansions now? You might want to include the Flower Knight as well because it ties into the lore of the Dung Beetle Knight.

I like how you are so thoroughly when it comes to counting what you need to wound on against Toughness or what you need to hit with your Accuracy, however when it comes to everything else you miss things. First is smaller in the Hunt, you did Overwhelming Darkness and had one character that just had gotten 3+ Courage to do Path of the Brave, but you still rolled him as Insane (it's not against the rule though since I think you get to choose which one to do then). Could be important though since I think it was the character that rolled a Lantern 10, so the effect could have been even better than what you got on the Path of the Insane. The bigger thing I felt was Vicious Claw at around 1:10:39. You had just severed his Strange Hand giving him the Lost Hand persistant injury, but you didn't even check that part, which would have given the person infront (Sam) +1 understanding and ignored the AI card completely. That same character would then have stood up since he was knocked down during the Survivor's turn from a Hit Location, but you left him down for one additional round. There are other things that could have helped, but too complicated to explain.

I agree that they tend to miss the little things, particularly in the excitement of the moment, and it can be strangely frustrating.. I say "strangely" because this is a game that THEY are playing, though, I just think that goes to show how absorbing this game can be!

Really glad to see these going up again will look forwards to your exploits. I'm gearing up for a run with the Lion God in my campaign to see how I fair. You mention the beetle below are you adding any other expansions? What are your thoughts on 1.5 compared to 1.3/4?

Obviously forgive any mistakes. There is one or two in the next lantern year as it had been a while since i used the Beetle. But at least you know what not to do! And the same with a later fight. Also next block of videos we record will use some new tokens to help track some more things, because tracking survival actions is getting hard, especially when a new player joins. But glad people like the video!

Just noticed, When you hit the WL, using the Counterweighted axe, you rolled 2 perfect hits. According to the wpn's special rule you didnt need to roll for wound, so you wouldve killed the lion anywho. (you did the rolls and wounded it) So outcome was the same, just remember that fantastic special rule that axe has. Its one of the best weapons in the game due to that

Loved the episode. I hope you are all back in the next one. My experience with this game is very limited, but is it just me or is that Club an awful weapon? It requires both the attack and movement action which means positioning yourself to hit with it is almost impossible without spending Survival, and Survival is better spent for other things. Despite that you got a lucky win at the end. If that last attack from the Lion had hit anywhere else it would probably be a TPK.

The club, combined with mastery becomes a beast.

That club is actually really well made because clumbersome keeps it in line early on with such high strength but later on you can bypass its negatives with Armour set abilities, dashing, surging and clever monster control with its high strength which combines with lantern armour its one of the few weapons that's still valid in the end game.

It is level 2, and also we needed to ease Sam into the game. A lot less lion stuff in the next few fights.
