Let's Play Legend of Grimrock 2 #57: Follow the Light

The deepest level of the cemetary is, in many ways, the least dangerous. There are few enemies roaming around its corridors, allowing you the breathing room to rest and recover from the ghoul pit that I totally should have used the forcefield spell to help block off an avenue of attack.
Will I ever use that spell? Who knows what the future holds!
That's not to say that it'll be a walk in the park, however. The final level has three distinct areas full of puzzles and some of them are positively deadly if you're not careful. Luckily for us, bit hints have been left for us - likely by the Island Master to make it sporting - allowing the group to muddle through these final obstacles to the last power gem in this area of the island.

I already knew of two solutions to the snake/turtle/spider/slime round, and you found a third! The turtle is the only one that swims; the only one that doesn't begin with S; and the only one that can't inflict a status ailment.

With the club / shield / helmet / axe combo the club also fits because it's the only one that doesn't have any metal in it, just wood and stone.

Early on Kiko hardly ever came across any Mimic chests... now evey one seems to be a Mimic! Still scare the **** outta me even though I am expecting them!

Strangely it seems ALL the chests are now mimics. I don't recall seeing a normal chest in 5 or so episodes.

I’ve played LoG2 to completion three times. It has many great qualities, but I have always found this whole cemetery/crypt area exhausting: I think it overstays its welcome. Plus, at this point of the game, some repetition starts to emerge: this is the fifth puzzle involving spikes (after the ‘shrine of pain’, ‘house of pain’, ‘follow the leader’, and the pit where are located the archmage's boots). Oh well, at least in this let’s play I have Chee, Onara, Ivrekk and Eyes to keep me good company. :)

If you REALLY wan a PUZZLE FEST in this type of game, try Vaporum: Lockdown (well, and Vaporum, but Lockdown has more intense tricky puzzles... Vaporum has trickier combats)!

I always found that crystal at the beginning of the episode mildly annoying since neither it nor the space it's on ever show up properly on the map.

The wormbound family are in fact *not* unfortunately very dead, Chee. That's part of the problem, really; they're not nearly as dead as they should be in many cases =P edit: Isn't the fire shield more like an option for *Chee's* defence? I mean, everyone else can basically go swimming in lava if they want =P
