Let's Play Lords of Midnight (2013 Edition)

In this video we take a look at a remake of the Mike Singleton classic Lords of Midnight. This game was lovingly remade by Chris Wild and it really shows. It's very true to the original gameplay with just a few improvements over the old game. Chris graciously offered me keys to the Lords of Midnight as well as Doomdark's revenge after seeing my c64 play-though of the original.

Oh man, The Lords of Midnight and Doomdark's Revenge duo is my second favorite games ever, after Warlords II Deluxe.

morkin needs to find the moonring where luxor died to take back control of the characters. it is the ring that controls them.

Just played it and it seems he's added some new lords. I can't remember Lord of Midwinter being in the original.

Nice gameplay. Good thing Luxor died, that way you were able to play it adventure style. You got lucky, as Morkin was under attack in Lothoril (btw there's a Fey lord there). Last but not least, even after Luxor died, there was another way to victory after getting the crown in Morkin's hands, even if he does not go for the Moonring. I shall not spoil the surprise for others.

Weird how quickly you lost everyone like that... The poor Dragon didn't sign up for this. But the good news is the proverbial Hobbit made it to Mount doom.

+Jolly Roger Luxor's ring gives him the power to "move armies with his mind" or essentially let the player control all the recruited lords. If Luxor dies, he drops the ring and the lords are AI controlled at that point. It's technically possible for Morkin to find and use the ring, giving you back control of the lords, but then it's pretty much impossible to destroy the crown.

There is a Wiseman there if I recall correclty from the 1980's game that I played. But 30 years later I may be wrong.

This is sort of like Liberal Crime Squad, I guess. You can get your founder to go around and roust up an army of followers, but if he gets taken out in battle, they all scatter. Maybe you needed to get all the other characters some juice by sabotaging factories or hacking networks.

1. corleth cannot recruit army from keep of blood, because corleth is fey (elf) and blood is free (human) 2. please learn where lord shadows is located ffs 3. when luxor dies, he loses the moon ring, which allowed him to control all other characters. you need to bring morkin to that location, do Seek to find the ring, and you will be able to control other lords again.
