This area is basically the reason I love this game so much. Compared to the lovely shininess, the other games' areas just fall flat with me. Of course, the devs did see fit to put a blasted Press path right in the hardest area of the game. Someone at Capcom had a bad day when making that part of the map....

I think the secret area looking pretty is on purpose. It's like a sucubus, it may seem sweet by it's appearence, but once you get drawn in to it's truly cold embrace it'll make your life belong to it. And I don't mean it makes you worship and serve it, I just mean it kills you.

00:34 You see that scientist right there? He should be blocking your path right? Well, I've managed to walk through him several times. If I remember correctly the gap between him and the tree is slightly too large to stop Lan. Considering how many times you go past there and it saves you about half a second each time once you work out how.

Monoliths are 10 battles, but then the almighty 30 battle one for a "half damage field" chip. Speaking of which, I got that very same chip from the 10-for-1 trader in DNN. Seriously, that trader will nearly give you ones you don't have in your Standard library all the time.

@MegamanStar42 Essentially, since they're security systems, they delete intruders that try to go through them incorrectly. The attack does an even 1000 HP, the most you can have without HP+ programs.

Eergh. I remember the toughest of those security programs. I had to use a mix of Grass Stage, HeatSpread and Copy Damage to take them down. I think their attack is meant to be "Error and Delete" though, Erase only has one R.

@RoahmMythril 15:48 And that is why you have to keep switching folders in Secret Area. One folder for random battles and the other folder with Barrier 500 advance and other PA that hits hard in one shot. The other folder is meant to take on those monolithes.

There is, but it's only does Var-Swords damage which isn't enough to take out the 250HP virus in one shot. Now if this game had Neo-Var, that could also be used on these things with little effort as it has a much higher power rating (240) Needing only a single atk+10 to allow it to kill with any of it's inputs and that same set up allowing it to kill the omega level version with 500HP with it's Stepcross combo. 4 year old comment I know, but since no one else as responded.

Yes, you can cycle through the style forms as much as you want, in fact you may have to if you want a specific element along with it. I once had to grind Custom Style seven times just to get Aqua Custom -.-

I'll have to look into that one a bit more, but at the current point in time, the emulation looks like it may have freezing issues, and any other methods would be a bit more complicated than it's really worth for my least favorite entry in the series, I'm afraid.

To be honest, I think that is more than understandable at this point. I mean, I didn't like the whole idea of having to replay the game just to get everything. I am currently on my fourth run and I still have yet to get Elecsoul.... Frustrating, that. So back to the point: Whatever you're going to do, I'd probably understand why you'd do so. And to be honest, I can't even blame you. Having to replay a game to get all the extras....

MMBN4 has serious problems with the emulator. As shown by Epee Em, some scenarios are practically unplayable. Woodman's scenario flat out breaks if you encounter a virus using an emulator, and if you use a "no virus" cheat, then the game can make most of the minigames impossible. Besides, the game is "Silent Hill 4" of the series (Ironically enough, both are the fourth in the series), so why bother??

If you can find a way to do it that isn't too inconvenient for you great, but if not, oh well. I've played Red Sun/Blue Moon, the emulation on it is buggy, some scenarios are seemingly impossible due to these bugs, and overall the game just isn't that great.

The game also sucks on ice. It is, by far, the weakest game in the series. The scenarios are stupid, the story is barely touched upon in favor of the stupid tournament scenarios, and the new characters are walking cardboard cutouts.
