Technically Ryan is right, the UK was heavily deforested due to the lack of easily accessed coal so wood and peat were common until shipping coal was viable in the 19th century. Since then the UK has made an effort to repopulate the forests but there are very few old growths and still minicule numbers compared to the US or even the NA continent.

Well when Edinburgh joins England we'll talk. In the most mundane sense, yes a few of the King's private reserves and some Lord's private reserves still exist. Walk 5 miles in any direction in Pennsylvania in a vaguely rural area and you'll find trees easily double or triple the age of the average tree in England or Scotland for that matter.

well, considering that the last part they had a single challenge that was an hour long but the episode was not. i would assume that they actually cut out a pretty good amount. But its true, they are really good at editing, its hard to tell, especially on the long letsplays.

It's really easy to cut to someone's screen and mask a dead space. For instance in this video Jack gets lost, the boys chit chat for about 30 seconds and bam Jack's back at the throne room even though he was just deep underground. The day-night transition is really easy to mask if someone is underground.

While it's true that mooshrooms can be milked for stew, at that point Ryan didn't know that Edgar had been turned into the mooshroom-iteration-of-Edgar by Gavin. The timeline goes: Ryan improves Edgar's habitat and Kung Fu House, leaves, then Gavin comes, kills OG Edgar, creates mooshroom-Edgar, leaves. Without originally knowing that Edgar could now produce stew, Ryan had no reason to check his house during this challenge, which in turn would've been the only way he could learn that Edgar could now produce stew :D
