It was a really good one, with the suspense of who is going to let who out first, then the slow finding of blocks and materials, but then there was the action, and all the fighting, and at the end, I couldn't really tell who was going to win. The "Give us back our pickaxe please" rule really ruined the game. There should have been more than one, so that the other team could keep it if they got it of you. If not, you could just do like Geoff and run around wherever you want, as there is no point in killing him. The game had such potential to be awesome, but got ruined by weird and unnecessary rules.

Easy to call people who criticize something "haters". Also, when one team finds the pickaxe the game is pretty much since the one who has the pickaxe is practically untouchable, because killing him is only a minor inconvenience to them. The let's play was a great idea which was not executed well. I hope they do another Snowbound X in the future with fair rules, so it doesn't all come down to who finds the pickaxe first.

I liked the lest play, but I think the pickaxe rule is unfair, because geoff could just walk around killing people and as soon as he died he was allowed it back, they should have said you cant kill with the pickaxe or that you can take the enemys pickaxe if they die with it, would have made it more interesting, because once the gents found the pickaxe they just shat on the lads :(

I have a feeling they would want to avoid using hellbound, and they tend to add X to titles that are updated versions of previous games (CTTX, multiple GTA let's plays). They also sometimes have connection problems when they use the Nether.

***** They don't have to give it up. They lost it in a fight. They could just as easily steal it back or try and find the other one. It's unfair that just because the lads were unlucky (and finding the pickaxe is almost completely a matter of luck) they are at a huge disadvantage for the rest of the game. They were able to kill Geoff, and so they should be rewarded for that. Geoff got lucky and found a pickaxe, fair enough, but why does that mean he's entitled to it for the rest of the game?

The rule that you cant take Geoff pickaxe was stupid because it meant he was the only one who could win so the lads had to monitor him and not find there pickaxe.

Actually, the original rule, which is why Geoff to keep it throughout the Let's Play, is that once either team found their pick axes, then they'd be the ones to keep it. If team Lads found their pickaxes on their side, then they'd keep it on them if one of them dies carrying it. Same goes for the Gents. Though the problem was i s that the Lads were left in a disadvantage because of the misplaced gold blocks [which they were supposed to be in chests] and possibly the pickaxe is hidden in a very, not so obvious location on their side. It wasn't fair, yes, but they follow the rules that was set right on the beginning [Or whenever a new rule is added during the Let's Play]. To be fair, the Gents did win fairly despite the Lads not being able to find the pickaxe, which I would consider very unlucky for them.

I like how Ryan jumped right on to the obsidian block to show you could get up there, but Geoff complained that he couldn't make the jump. However, that is because of one reason and one reason only: Geoff doesn't know how to sprint on Minecraft: Xbox Edition. The entire time Geoff was just walking, not sprinting, therefore he couldn't have made that jump.

To everyone saying the tool return rule was stupid: Without it, the Let's Play wouldn't have worked. If you're going to win after the other team does all the work, you need to make an amazing play, like killing them while they've got all the blocks. Just killing someone once to take the pickaxe should not be enough to make it nearly impossible for them to win. That would become the whole focus, and it would turn into another deathmatch. That wasn't the point.

Personally I agree that it needed to be returned but I think they could have made it more interesting by instituting a time penalty where I your pickaxe is taken you don't get it back for five minutes or so. The rules as is just encouraged Geoff to bum rush the lads over and over again with little to no consequence.

Minecraft Let's Play idea - Death Messages. There's a wide variety of f death messages you can get when you die in Minecraft, and the goal is to get all of the death messages in a list that Geoff can pick (e.g. burned to death, shot by skeleton, blown up by creeper, killed by spider, etc.). They may need to travel to the nether to get killed by the mobs there, and figure out the difference between 'fell from a high place' and 'hit the ground too hard' in order to get both messages. Same with figuring out the difference between 'went up in flames' and 'burned to death'. They could also need to find lava to drown in, or create a potion of harming to get that death message, etc.

The fact that they had to give back everything gave very little meaning to dying lol. "I'm allowed to go into your base looking for your gold blocks and every time you kill me you have to give me back the tool that will give us the victory." Oh well, the beginning and ending parts were pretty great. Snowbound X? Making everything fair game?!

While I agree that the rule could have been better, big part of the game was that you have to be efficient to find your teammates and the pickaxe. If the pickaxe finding could have been prevented by killing the opposing enemy by just killing him and taking his pickaxe, it would have been too easy and taking away from the intent of the game.

Toiska36 I get what you mean but that would mean that when you were going to try and get the other teams blocks you have to go as a team to defend the pickaxe carrier and not just run over destroy as much snow as possible then when you die get the pickaxe and run back and try again until you win. I know it would be stupid if the other team gets the other teams pickaxe but then it would make them have to play as a better team than just being a lone wolf.

Toiska36 Pretty much what Daniel said. This rule just allows you to play pretty carelessly lol. And I think it's worth mentioning that I'm pretty sure the Iron Pickaxe does more damage than the Wooden Sword, so whoever has it can play carelessly, then murder them whenever he wants, and then get it back when they finally kill him xD

I enjoyed this lets play. Yes, maybe there were rules that didn't work so well, like the pickaxe thing, but really, who cares? Most people would agree that it was fun to watch and if you didn't, what did you really lose? An hour of your time maximum? Not a big deal. The problem I have with a lot of the fans of AH is that they feel entitled to these videos. We aren't. We shouldn't expect perfect lets plays. The majority of us don't pay for them, we watch for free. The guys don't have to spend their time making these for us. I'm certain they could get way better paid jobs but they choose to work for Rooster Teeth instead. We should be grateful that they work so hard making all these videos every day of the week, filming, editing, coming up with ideas. They don't deserve the bitching they get when some people don't like something about a video. A lot of the "fans" in the comments here really need to grow up and stop whining.
