Glad to see you playing another one of my childhood favourites. Your recap looks good. There are several dead-ends in the game, and you've had a brush with a few of them already. Keep lots of regular saves over the whole playthrough. One funny thing about this game is that the speedrun world record is under 2 minutes, and the world record for the EGA version is just 59 seconds! Those records rely on some major bugs however. The game was intended to feel like an RPG where you train and skill up your character over the long run, combined with traditional Sierra puzzles. Hope you enjoy it!

It really feels unique in the combination of point-and-click with RPG elements, I think I'm getting a hang of it. And yeah, I feel a bit scarred by King's Quest pushing me into dead ends every second, so if I'm extra paranoid - that's why! The dryad killing me was 100% something I wouldn't reverted a save for (if I hadn't already reloaded from being dead).

Imagine waking up from a nap and seeing some weirdo hunched over coming towards you 🤣

Our nameless protagonist truly has a creepy sneak stance - which I suppose is reasonable now that I think about it haha

Flexing on people with your sweet daggerfall shirt. If you set the speed to just below max you won't automatically go to the next screen

I was thinking my super-high speed might be to blame, but good to know I don't need to turn it down to "slow walker" levels.

Cool map! Agree with your numbering strategy. Who has the time for remembering x when looking up y. Just look at the map and follow the numbers.

Yes! I don't know why a grid system just doesn't click as well. Ideally, if there were 10x10 rows/columns, I would number them so that the 'ones' digits lined up. But then I'd feel weird that I'm leaving numbers out - can't win!
