They're definitely my favorite of everything Sierra has put out, and by far the most replayable.

I actually never knew of these games until I watched your LP of Heroine's Quest. Now I'm watching everything potentially related to the series and seeing what I've missed out on. Thanks for being awesome! :D

Hope you enjoy it! I still haven't LPed the final game in the series yet, but the first four are available. :)

Classic Game! Played it first in GLORIOUS EGA! But the newer version is... a lot easier on the eyes.

On my second watch through of this series... yes, I love Sierra! How dare you insinuate I'm a Sierra Hater? You cad! You bounder! But seriously, I wish there was a Quest For Anonymity. The guys who made Kingdom of Loathing would be the perfect creators for it.
@timothymclean6 жыл бұрын
Quest for Anonymity could be kinda fun. You're the son of a paper-thin expy of a classic adventure game hero. (And possibly a classic adventure game heroine, if there are any. Or Elaine Marley, she's close enough and probably better-known.) You've seen what a life of adventure brought for your parents and big sister, and are unimpressed. Fame, fortune, and status are nice and all, but not (you feel) worth being constantly threatened by evil wizards, ghost pirates, dragons, mad scientists, zombies, Wicked Witches of Somewhere That Isn't the West, sariens, surprisingly-evil schoolmarms, royal usurpers, tentacles, dysentery, corrupt psychopomps, omnipotent malevolent AIs, and manifestations of chaos. So he takes a loan from his folks, settles down in the country, and tries to run a nice farm...only to be interrupted by one kind of threat after another. His attempts to find someone _else_ to deal with it always fail, ending with him having several of the pieces to defeat the threat that he puts together out of expedience more than anything else. Eventually, he realizes that his family adventures not for the rewards, but because they're fighting things that seriously threaten people. (Not true to many adventure game protagonists, but roll with me.) With this realization under his belt, he goes back to doing what he does best and using his management skills (and, you know, his acquired adventuring basic-competence) to save the day-and probably his family-from some kind of big threat. Could be a lot of fun. Hm...I'll put it in my "to do if I have time to make a whole game" folder.

I think there's a lot that thieves can do, it's just that most things can be done by all the classes. I usually play as a fighter because I like fighter combat best, and I like becoming a Paladin.

I dont really know, what game series i love more - Quest for Glory or Space Quest, both are awesome.
@laffer3511 жыл бұрын
Cool, I really like the Quest for Glories series... very original blend of RPG elements with adventure games, and it works pretty well, too... it's too bad the thief is pretty useless in this one, though... I like being a thief.

Also you mentioned a parody of this game, if you havent already heard about it check out a game called Quest for Infamy. It is still being made but they have a demo. It is basicly just like the QFG games but your infamous instead of trying to be a hero.

I always end up playing thief and spending all my points on magic at the character creation. This way as I play through the series with my character they can solve all the puzzles in all the different ways you can, I have even beaten QFG3 with the staff as a thief instead of the hook.

With almost all adventure games I remember I came to a frustrating point where I don't know what to do and eventually look up into some walkthrough what to do next. I don't know how it would go today but although I wanted badly to like adventure games but they were so irritating. Do you have similar experience or do you go through it with ease?
@aulddragon10 жыл бұрын
It depends a lot on the puzzle. The worst thing I can remember was a part in King's Quest 6. I knew what I had to do, but I couldn't figure out how to actually do it. Generally though I'll eventually get the puzzles. Or I'll quit the game and try again later. :)
