@@TheRealDill93 Oh yeah it's really good. It's a whole different flavor from HOI4. This game you make your own space empire and decide where to go from there. And it's not asymmetric starts like many paradox games, everyone starts on equal footing. Which could be a pro or con depending on who you are. It's got good narrative feeling to it, I would say, if you like macro narratives about entire empires.

I really like this introduction into Stellaris. I also like that you show us some different stuff from what we all have seen so far (Blorg). Here in particular that you use the industrious trait. Since this game is different from the usual Paradox Clausewitz stuff insofar that everyone starts from the ground stuff that helps you expand faster should be kind of powerfull. I really wondered that it seemed there wasn't a lot of people useing speed up traits, ethos and goverments in the mp stream (with the non agression for the first day it would be a great way to overpower the oponents industry).

For those who cant see the toggle mentioned at 5:50 to enable custom race its is because your resolution is too low, even 1368x720, you have to go HD to see the toggle. Hopefully they fix the UI scaling in the coming patches

you cant unless your graphics card and screen can go it. Here is what you can do to get them to show; 1. Download this mod: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=696171852 2. Do your documents folders/paradox interactive/stellaris/ then open user_empire_designs.txt. This file holds all custom races created by the user. Now to enable each, look for the line that says "spawn_enabled=yes" and change it to "spawn_enabled=always" for always spawn or "spawn_enabled=no" for no spawn 3. If you know your graphics card can go HD but the option isn't there in the graphics setting. You can either; a. Update your video card drivers, restart your computer and then see if it works at HD resolution. b. Connect you computer/laptop to an external display/monitor which is capable of HD resolution, launch the game, choose what you want to spawn and close the game. All these options will work. Downloading the mod will fix things without a doubt. Alternatively, you can change what to spawn in the text file as stated.

It would be nice if there was say a scenario creation screen, and the customization was a wee bit more in depth. For instance a planet that used to be quite advanced space travel wise (orbital defense platforms, mining stations ect) but was torn apart by war... You come along after the wars ended and are attempting to rebuild your spacefaring fleets, and can reclaim old stations left abandoned. Customizing the description of your race would've been a neat addition, instead of having it auto-generated. It would also be cool if you could add more than two ethics, so like a Fanatic Pacifist nation that is also Fanatically Religious and Xenophiles. And/or just add the ability to create your own ethics to tailor to your custom race, As well as being able to set all nations to initially be wary or hostile, so you could really specify and roleplay. Planet of peaceful explorers leave their planet with the intent of sharing their religion only to be met with extreme hostility, and your goal is to make friends with everyone. Damn that would've been great. And I don't know if you can, but adding your own planets and making your own solar system would be epic. I know all of this could easily be cheezed, but meh.

+1975Jdonov Each race in SotS has quite different methods of FTL travel that also effected how they moved about in battles. The Hivers used jump gates, but they have to build them on every system they want to go to, and need to move at slower than light speed to get there the first time and set up the gate.

Humans were static 'node lines', Zuul could make their own, but they collapse, Tarka were standard warp, Liir use microjumps (stutterwarp), Morrigi get faster with more ships in a fleet and Hiver build gates and eventually have the ability to jumpgate to non-gated systems, though that's anti-matter age, prior to that they use STL travel to systems.

As an addition to above, Star Ruler 2 uses differing FTLs, I think there's hyperdrive (Star Wars), fling beacon (mass relay), slipstream (sometimes seen in B5 where a cap ship opens a ad-hoc jump point then the fleet enters) and gate (jump gates) with the current patch and DLC.

+Allan Tayor more like "that awkward moment when you don't have the name rights to Master of Orion". It's basically a new Master of Orion with a few aspects of other Paradox games built in. It's a good thing. I like the idea of Orion being revived. I will buy it most definitely. But only if they drop the EU4 achievement mechanic. Cause fuck the patches that constantly destroy savegames.
