If you have variable speed turbo, your going to want to turn it down JUST a smidge, consistent evenly spaced shots are of more value then the rapid bursts. The NES Advantage worked so well for this game, back in the day.

So, how badly are you going to break this game? Taking all three items out of the one item shops? Score Cheesing? Any of the other glitches? TGM mode? Or just a regular playthrough of my favorite NES GAME EVER!

(34:24) Looks like he's not doing the "take all items" trick. By holding the start button after unpausing you can just buy all three items instead of just one. In this store you'd have to come back with 450 chips to afford it. This one you'd be better off waiting for 300 chips and buying the "speed up" and "sub weapon" from the store. With the trick you can get some subweapons higher then the game expects you to reach, and you can get your chipmax higher then expected as well, getting you a BIT of an advantage in the midgame.
