Yes, Gavin, a platypus lays eggs. How do you not know this?? That's like the only thing everyone knows about them. They lay eggs, they have a duck bill and if you're really an animal buff they have poisonous barbs on their back feet. It is really interesting to know now that echidnas lay eggs too. I looked into it and they're in the same group as a platypus. Also both of them have a cloaca.

I swear, when they released part 1 of this back in the day, I knew absolutely nothing. It's such an incredible feeling to finally know the answers lol. "Jabberwocky" ’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. “Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!” He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought- So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought. And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. “And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy. ’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.

Oh dear! That JFK quote and everything, other non-native speakers have made out of it, has always been a real clusterfuck of erroneous information. Complicated, in this case, by the fact that Jack misquotes both JFK and Eddie Izzard precisely on the keypoint of Eddie's contention ... That contention being wrong in the first place!!! To make it clear: JFK's quote has never been misunderstood in Germany! It is perfectly correct to say (as he did): "Ich bin ein Berliner!" And I really don't mean as in "it's okay, everybody understands want you meant by that". No, it's just correct! He COULD have said "Ich bin Berliner." and that would have been right as well. Just as "I'm American" (adjective used as a noun) is equally correct as "I'm an American" (just a noun). To be fair, the first form is more robust against being misconstrued, because the adjective is clear. In the second case, the word "American" can take the meaning of any noun that is spelled "American". (Coincidentally, there is a type of pastry which is called an American ... but just in Berlin. And ironically, it is very closely related to the pastry that is called Berliner. Also, in Berlin, nobody calls it a Berliner, but a Pfannkuchen, which again, is something completely different in other parts of Germany.) Yes, it's THAT complicated! :)
@zachhunter61257 жыл бұрын
While you are correct in what you said, it's funnier to believe at least one person who heard that be said misunderstood him and went "wait, what?"

I think it more has to do with synonyms. If Berliner wasnt a donut, itd have been correct without a doubt, but because its a synonym it causes confusion. Itd be like if the was a country called donutan and the people called themselves donuts. You know within the context of them saying, Im a donut, theyre saying theyre from donutan, but it still could be misconstrued that they mean theyre a physical donut. Edit: nvm you kinda already covered what I just said. (Didnt read all of it) But I took like 5 min. Making thus comment so its not coming down

How the fuck are mangos more popular than apples bananas or oranges
@HalfMoon957 жыл бұрын
dnceleets Stop thinking about "popularity" and start thinking about availability. Apples and bananas can only grow in very specific climates and oranges require large amounts of water. The most versatile of the four is the mango which can grow in most countries around the world. They are also very hardy fruits, so when it comes to "popularity," most people have access to only local fruits and the mango, making it the most popular on a global scale.

Popular literally means most sold, not favorite

Clay D but we live in a world of globalized trade, while not everyone can get access to a specific fruit, especially in poorer countries and areas, I still would have thought that an apple would beat a mango in a what fruit is consumed the most contest

the answer to your confusion is in your comment. Poorer countries cannot always afford such imports as apples or bananas, but lots of people have mango trees in their backyard. Most of the world's population is in developing countries. This is also where mango trees grow the most

A Sock Full of Milk people have mango trees in their backyards? Adversely in the United States it’s not uncommon for me to find or know someone who has an apple tree in their backyard or grows them for some reason I get that when you look at the demographics 1st world countries don’t have as much of a population as developing 3rd world ones but mangos as a widespread fruit in those areas is mostly why I find the answer so mind-boggling I don’t doubt that mangos being the most popular fruit is possible or is likely/the truth but I just never expected it to be mangos specifically
