These 2 cutscenes define who Wario is, a slob who is voided of any care about the world and its inhabitants unless there’s treasure involved. And when he does save the world, he doesn’t do it for justice or to learn a lesson, or any typical cliche a hero would do to save the world. Most heroes would learn something at the end. Not Wario, don’t lecture him on why he’s on this journey. He’s there for the money, and doesn’t give a damn if he saves the world or not. Even the cutscene where we see the evil King lecture about how he’s evil and stuff. You can tell the premise was as if Wario wrote it. He doesn’t care about the story or the stakes, just the reward. The people who made this game are clearly fans of Wario Land, and put all their greedy hearts and souls into this. And I salute them for making a really great Wario game.

The timing of these subtitles is pretty crappy. I mean that line at 2:48 only shows up for like half a second. Yes, it's only 2 words, but unless there's another line coming right after it that's more important, you don't need to take it away so quickly. And then other lines that are pretty important get skipped over.
