It’s a dark, sad song, but hopeful at same time. The flower is a symbol of rebirth, light after dark times, new begining as you said.

After her song "Dzanum" which went viral all over the world thanks to Tiktok, now we have a sequel in the form of Ramonda.The title of Teya's song "Ramonda" references a flower known by its latin name "Ramonda serbica", an endemic species that only grows in Serbia, which is known for its ability to completely dry out and still revive once it gets water, a flower that can straight up come back from undead. Very similar to Ramonda Serbica is Natalie's Ramonda, flower of the same genus, In Serbia it's known as "Natalijina ramonda" named after the XIX century Serbian queen Natalija Obrenović and it's used as a symbol of victory in WWI. In Serbia, to mark this day we wear a phoenix flower - Natalie's Ramonda, capable of resurrection, just as Serbia after WWI, in which it lost almost 1/3 of people. In fact, the song can also talk about loneliness and the ability to have everything in its place one day. Just like Ramonda flower only needs a drop of water to come alive.

Ok, the song wasn't my personal first choice, but let me clarify the importance of flower Ramonda regarding Serbian history from WW1: Ramonda (or Nathalie's Ramonda, named after Serbian queen Natalija at the time) is an endemic flower which is claimed it can come from a withered state with just one drop of water, just like devastated Serbian Army almost literally came back from dead in WW1 after expulsion from homeland and crossing Albanian harsh mountains during winter and disease and multiple lost battles mostly due to small number of soldiers in comparison to Central powers. With marginal chances of coming back from dead, our ancestors did (and came back hard). On 11th november - WW1 international peace Remembrance day, you can see it worn by Serbian public figures, and also by some common people throughout the country. So, it's not just a random flower per se, but it has strong symbolic meaning In the chorus she repeats: "Lila ramonda" - referencing to the lilac(purple) colour of the flower.

The rock on which the singer is lying at the beginning of the video represents the island of Corfu in Greece, where Serbian soldiers recovered in the First World War, after retreating across Albania. We call the sea around the island of Krv the Blue Tomb, because many soldiers who died are buried there. In Serbia, the Ramonda flower is a symbol of rebirth and rising from the ashes. The people have gone through and are going through many misfortunes and sufferings, but they always hope that everything will be fine. This song is dedicated to all those who sacrificed themselves for the benefit of new generations.

If you listen carefully to Teya Dora, she begs us all the time with her voice, prays and cries, conveying to us the hidden heartbreaking story behind this song with the emotion of her vocal in falsetto. Namely, through her emotion, lyrics and stage, she tells us about the tragedy of her country in WW1, when the Kingdom of Serbia lost 44.6% of its population (this is correct but forbidden information, 44.6%). This artist with a pure heart gave us "Ramonda" (lyric and melody) and warns us that in the future days that are ahead of us because every country as a whole humanity can experience the fate of Serbia if we do not wake up. Don't forget Ramonda! With love, from a Bosnian Serb!❤

@alexandru41937 ай бұрын
It's not even the patriotism. I don't care about political messages and I judge songs based on how much I like listening to them. Gnezno Orlovo was my favourite alongside Najbolja. However, they both fucked up the live performance and after the semifinals my two favourites ended up being Lik U Ogledalu and Ramonda. Breskvica's song would've done so bad in the contest it wouldn't even have qualified. Songs like this just don't do well in the contest. It reminds me to Romania's Selectia Nationala two years ago. Romania Mea was one of my favourites but the live version just wasn't it. There's nothing you can do either. You can't fit dancers or some crazy stuff in a more ''traditional song''. And not only that, but it's very rare for a song like this to be relatable for the rest of European countries. Usually these types of songs are popular only in their countries of origin, while most outsiders don't really ''get them''. At least that's how I see these type of ''patriotic'' more ''traditional'' songs in the contest. Ea Ea from Blanca Paloma is another example, that's why Spaniards will probably not send a song like that in a very long time.
@H.todorovic747 ай бұрын
Zeyna’s song is stupid and has no meaning, no one likes konstrakta and teya dora absolutely deserves the win. What even do you mean by breskvica with “fake patrionism”? She did very well. And she’s a very thankful girl that’s why we love her.
@H.todorovic747 ай бұрын
@@alexandru4193I honestly found Breskvica’s song to be beautiful and it was my favorite at first, but indeed it just wasn’t as good when live preforming. I felt like the volumes with the microphone were f’d up and her voice wasn’t the best at all times. She just might not be experienced enough yet… I too ended up favoring Ramonda and Lik u ogledalu and I am actually so happy for Teya because she truly deserves it. She did great and her song sounds perfect for the contest.
@alexandru41937 ай бұрын
Yes! I can see Ramonda doing so well in the contest. She's definetely going to stand out since she has a ballad, which we only have three this year, and not only that but it's a *good ballad*. My problem with Breskvica wasn't even her voice, it was the staging. As I said, there's just not much you can do on stage to perform these type of more traditional and patriotic songs. I can see why the performance ended up being a bit of a mess. The costume with the wings wouldn't have appealed to the European public as it just comes up as too cheesy. But again, I don't blame her, it's just difficult to stage a song like this for Eurovision. Usually it's just sung for a national holiday with the singer just standing there wearing traditional clothes (I know cause I'm Romanian XD). @@H.todorovic74

This year Serbia and France have only ballads, same happened in 2007 when Serbia won Eurovision. Eurovisionworld has all translations. A flower Serbia Ramonda native to Serbia is symbol of Serbia for first great war as it is poppy in UK. Ramonda can completely die and only one drop of water it takes to come back to life. During WWI Serbia lost 1/3 of population and it has recovered like flower Ramonda. Ramonda is like Phoenix bird.

I supported Teya Dora, but the issue is that she wasn't the people's choice. Breskvica had double the votes of Teya Dora, yet the jury manipulated the votes to prevent Breskvica from winning. This reflects the corruption in our country, where even in a music competition, democratic principles and freedom are suppressed. Breskvica's song, which metaphorically touched on the NATO bombing of Belgrade in '99, was forbidden because of its political message.
