I came to listen to this after reading Rudolf Steiner's Genesis Secrets of the Bible Story of Creation. It's a fascinating read. I am interested in how he explains about the imagistic side of the language and its power to paint the creation story in the mind of Hebrew sages. I also noticed that the word for light Ohr is similar in sound and spelling to the Irish word for gold ór prounounced oar

Would have loved if this was done word for word and not KJV. Don't get me wrong, I love me some King James, but trying in to learn Hebrew, a direct word for word translation would be much more useful. Still, I very much appreciate this, and will use the video for pronunciation training.

Thanks for the feedback. It was intended primarily for pronunciation and reading. There are multiple nunances in the text so we really cannot have a single word-for-word translation without interpretation.

I have heard Vs. 2 interpreted as, "The earth 'became' void and without form", implying an initial creation, then a destruction and second creation. Some preachers use that to explain the age of the earth as well as dinosaurs. Could you comment on that? Thanks for the wonderful work you produce.

Alright. I'm making progress. Still using the pause button before you read it out, but I'm getting it right 90% of the time. Hurrah. I suppose one begins to see patterns. But this abjad business ... Abugidas are definitely the apex of writing systems. So much clearer, especially the ones that still match modern pronunciation. (so not Thai with all those historical spellings.) I wonder ... Devanagari ... It looks well-designed but i know it was innovated for Sanskrit so it could get as messy as Hebrew does when applied to the modern language. ... Perhaps i will get to A1 in modern Hebrew then see about doing the same in Hindi.

Witch means that was telling the truth, God The Father, Jesus The Son and The Holy Spirit was there.

@@davidmattei1133 it actually never mentions that and out of those three only God the father is God, the other is his son and the other is the spirit. Therefore there were other gods and just have to keep studying to find out who they were
@davidmattei11335 ай бұрын
Yes it is mentioned. Elohim is plural witch it means that God the Father was not alone, and we can confirm that when he says in Genesis 1:26-27 "And God said, Let us make man in OUR image..." And it's not just that, throughout the Old Testament it speaks and mentions Jesus Christ. over and over again for example Daniel 3:25 says "...and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the God.” And Jesus Christ confirms that he was always with the Father and the Holy Spirit. For example John 8:58-59 "Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”. So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple. Why did they want to stone Jesus there? Because he is claiming that he was God, which is blasphemy to say that a man is God. But in this house Jesus was speaking the truth.
