This is part 2 of a series as we return this 1962 Corvette back to is glory. Chevrolet had come a long way since the release of their initial two-seat roadster in 1953. While the original model had some performance issues upon release, these issues didn’t stop the company from pressing forward and making subsequent cars better. This perseverance helped Chevy to create an American sports car that would go on to rival its well-known foreign counterparts and stand on its own merits.
One of the most significant and innovative upgrades to the 1962 Chevrolet Corvette was its engine. The 1962 car was the first to incorporate a much larger V-8 engine than any model before it. This time, the company used a 327 cubic inch engine block, displacing the smaller 283 engine found in earlier models. As a result of this change, the 1962 Chevrolet Corvette enjoyed unparalleled torque and power, covering marker distances in mere seconds while pushing 100 miles per hour. Chevy also scaled back the physical design of the car, keeping only the classic essentials. Today we transform the finish of this beautiful automobile and make it respectable once again!

This is one of my favorite videos yet. You knew before you started you had to wet sand first but you went through the testing process to educate us. Thank you for being awesome.

I love that this video popped up today! Earlier this morning I was detailing my kitchen and as I often do this type of home maintenance, I particularly enjoy it while accompanied by my favorite musical artists. Today's artist of choice for the task at hand was Prince. And, of course, when the song Little Red Corvette was playing, my first thought was "Hmmm, I wonder if Brian listens to this song when he is detailing/driving?" ..... I guess somewhere along the way I must have gotten the impression that you are a fan of those. So, as your channel aproaches the millestone of 100K I thought I would give you some real world feedback so that you know that the impressions you make can run deep and in a good way! Much gratitude and mad respect to you Sir!

Such a beautiful car. Great tips here as always my friend. That red was popping nice after the wet sand an polish. I too like to mix it up on the pad with different compounds/polishes👍 always enjoy the vids. Take care Brian!

Hey Brian. I have enjoyed the first two videos. I was super happy to hear that you sometimes mix compounds/polishes. I do that from time to time as well. I am sure many others do that too, but I was never certain. Anyway, I was glad to hear I am not the only one who mixes products when the need arises!

Awesome job as usual! Huge difference! Seeing wet sanding then polish makes me wonder if this is better then compounding then polishing? If this was on a metal panel with 6 mils of paint would your process been the same? What is your determining factor taking this approach on a different vehicle?

How do you tackle the top of the rear fender next to the trunk, with that up going curve? Machine or by hand? Reminds me a little of the peaks/crease/whatever on my mustang’s hood, have a terrible time polishing those.

I have never wet sanded paint but have done a couple of headlights. I always spray the sanding disc and drench it to flush away the residue and clean out the disc. Is that unnecessary?
