Before I watch this just gonna leave a list of best things to have in PvP coming from a multi glad. Focus binds Target binds target 1 through 3 cc binds Focus 1 through 3 cc binds have your information in front of you! You gotta make decisions quickly sometimes! Use addons like Gladius or Sarena Never ever CC over another cc till it brakes prevents DRs Omni Bar is also amazing Oo and macros lots of macros!! Some more advanced stuff is kicking healers or spell casters ideally in an arena situation you want to save kicks and stuns for when your healer is in a stun, one of your targets is low so you kick the healer or them. Do not push cds all at the same time some times you can bait out another players by popping one. If you play melee class use your slows!!!!!!!!!! If it's caster v caster pillars are your life line you can LoS most abilities if you hug the pillars and can save you a lot of damage that you may have taken if you didn't stay near a pillar! That's all I can really think of

Glad to see you opening up to PvP Bellular! Been playing WoW since PvP Season 2 started. Seen alot be done with PvP content. One thing still holds true for all PvP though is keep an eye out and never let your guard down. Spacial awareness can save your life in many of ways with LoS (Line of Sight) and field advantages w/ ranged DPS. Keep it up! It's not an easy grind after 2k!

A few helpful tips. MfD - roll the bones, THEN cheap shot. /cast [@arena1] Blind (et c). I bind those to f-numericals. Shadowstep-kick macros. Right-click gladius is the same as /focus them. Focus-kidney shot on modifier. Shadowstep-kidney if you are non-outlaw.

Also. Battleground targets is out of date. Realising you can use Shadowstep on friendlies help. Since you seem to want to go outlaw, I suggest /cast [@cursor] Grappling Hook to reduce mouse clicks, but you need to have the cursor in intended spot when you press it.

ADDONS THAT ARE A MUST: GLADIUS (shows new arena frames that show enemy CDs) PvP timers so you can see when objectives will be capped. I used to have more but I don't play as seriously as I have b4 and I do a decent amount of PvE as well S is my auto run, 5 and 6 on my 12 button mouse is strafe. On every single one of my characters QWER and those w shift are all my main spells, also on all of them my stub is D and my interrupt A. Macros (if I bother) CDs and special class specific abilities are T 1 2 3 4 7 8 F C. If you need a keybind setup I find that to be extremely effective and if you don't have a 12 button mouse use the alt modifier. If your gonna take anything from my setup I'd recommend the auto run somewhere where you can always hit it, makes it easy to run in circles around casters as Mel or heals. Strafes are also extremely useful if you don't already use them and you feel lathargic w/o them when in a nice PvP scenario (Arena, Big BG fight etc.)

A couple basic rogue tips based on the footage I've seen in this video: When you open you want to MfD and Roll the Bones from stealth before you cheap shot the target so you get the full value from your MfD. MfD and Roll the Bones both don't break stealth. When a mage ice blocks and you don't have a priest around to MD the block away, it's best to run away and try to get a re-stealth so you can get a fresh open on the mage. This may change in an arena setting rather than a BG setting, though, depending on what strategy your team wants to use.

Basically what has come to me. I just can't devote time to raiding, and don't want to give up WoW.... yet. Been enjoying PvP so much. Even the losses aren't that bad. if you play by the mechanics of the specific Battleground, even with a loss, you can be rightfully rewarded. This is very awesome, for in the past trying play Bgs such as Arathi Basin where you cap and defend a flag, but lose because pug team mates are just fighting on the road, I still get rewarded for playing the game properly

I'd highly suggest playing sub or assassination if you are looking to improve and win games until outlaw is in a more viable state. Assassination is FOTM currently and has more utility, as well as insane damage at the moment. It's also the easiest class to learn and will more reliably help you if you really want to win in arenas. I also would get the addon OmniBar over GladiatorlosSA because it adds a tracker for all enemy interrupts, buffs, etc on your screen and helps a lot with targeting decisions in arenas. All that being said, I'm super excited to see you getting into pvp and very much looking forward to the new content!

I honestly quit because i dont enjoy Animations of my warrior and i want the old CVbars for the oldschool Combat text back, but since its blizzard and stuff, thats old memory. But great to see you getting into pvp! Its a fantastic pickup if you want to become a better player overall, I mean it wont make you a SUPERSTAR pve player, but it will definitively help the case. And if you enjoy it well then even more cudos to you. personally i could never reroll away from warrior, and now that warrior feels unfamiliar i had no option to quit :D

Bellura one of the most important things you can do if you're starting out in arena is getting used to absorbing all the information you can. You should definitely be showing your party's unit frames so you can keep an eye on their health/if they are CCd. The next thing you should do is start from the beginning using arena target macros. some people take this to extreme levels by having macros set up for every move like /cast [target=arena1] Kick and such but if you just get used to using them as targeting functions instead of clicking on enemies or tabbing it really, really improves your gameplay and reaction times.

for the battle ground targets there is something wrong with the addon itself on the last update, you need to change something in your battlegroundtargets.lua i think is was and change "local id, name, _, icon, _, role = GetSpecializationInfoForClassID(classID, i)" to "local id, name, _, icon, role = GetSpecializationInfoForClassID(classID, i)" it's a minor change but it worked for me

I've never played seriously PvE at all, but i've spent countless hours of my life in arenas. PvP was the only reason i was playing WoW and i loved it. For me, PvE was always the irrelevant part of WoW, and PvP was the real deal. But yeah, it's very subjective.

When I went from PvE to PvP in Cata my skill in the game increased a lot. I went from clicking, which you can get away with in PvE to having key bindings in just a couple week, simply because you have to have key bindings to be even decent in PvP. I really believe if PvE players took the time to really learn the skills that you don't learn in PvE, Blizzard would be able to make more challenging content and players would be able to adapt when the fight goes a bit sideways. Too many times I see players just die in PvE when it could have been avoided with popping a defensive CD or using a movement ability or pull back and play more passive. In PvE you don't learn to keep yourself alive because you have heals that can free cast, but when the fight goes bad and healers die PvE players die seconds after because they didn't learn any survival techniques, which can allow the group to hang on that little bit longer and down that boss.

@BellularGaming, The battleground target's addon hasn't been updated for a while so that's why it's not working. There is a workaround but it's a bit of work. I had to do it since i play Rated bg's.

Also, here are a few macros that are a must for any rouge /cleartarget /targetenemy /cast sap The macro approve is very handy when fighting any other stealth player and is a must in PVP. I have it currently macro to my Mouse wheel and spin it when every I am sitting at a flag for AB. It simple and very effective, can even be used as a replacement for sap on your bar, but wouldn't recommend to do so for Arena. #showtooltip Vanish /cast [nocombat] Stealth; Vanish This macro is awesome and can be a pain at the same time! It places your Vanish and Stealth spells on the same macro, this allow you to free up a button and have one button dedicated to stealth which frees you up to make better discussions quicker, which in pvp means a better success rate. Just keep in mind weather of not your in combat, as you could blow vanish with out even knowing. /cast Curse of the Dreadblades(Artifact) /cast Adrenaline Rush /cast Vendetta /use 14 /use 13 Last, an all in one macro. This pops all your cooldowns in one button, making it so you can burst the crap out of people. I would recommend that you still have the other spells and items listed in this macro on the bar as you man need one over the other in different fights. But, is a solid macro and simple for even PVE players.

I've always liked PvP w/o really getting into it hardcore. I wouldn't even be considered that good among the community w only getting 1550 in 3s and 1750 in 2s, although I've grinder arena I've never attempted to find a dedicated partner(s) to push rating w. Just for fun really. I'm pretty sure almost every time I've logged on sense legion I do 1 BG, probably my fav thing about wow tied w raiding. It's really nice when you pick up on little things after playing for awhile that allows you to beat players who don't pick up on them. Satisfying when you win a 1v1 and I think my fav part is when there is a legitimate big battle in a certain area of the map where whoever wins it will start to win the game, for ex in warsong when both FC are being attached at once and about to die or in domination type modes where if you get that flag you can spread people out and have map control. Kinda just felt writing a paragraph about what I think of PvP, if yr bad but kno how to PvE just make sure yr never alone and go to places that need more people.

I know you, Bellular, play Hunter as a main but you decided to roll Rogue for PvP. I also play Hunter as my main but apart of that, I only have 2 other classes I could pick up to try PvP: Paladin (prefer as Healer), Druid (any spec, since I love that class) - which would you recommend??

i guess ill give a few tips, play whats comfortable to you stay withoutlaw if you want people can break metas real easily by playing what ever they want and make it work, ive been streaming lumberjack cleave which is double warrior/x basically any viable healer and its actually really fun the majority of the games were playing are laid back ez wins and we just coasted past 2k, secondly addons are good but its sometimes better to teach yourself rather than to rely on addosn to tell you whats going on or keeping track of DRs when you're communicating with your partners keeping track of cooldowns and when to line up CDs especially as a rogue lol

get target 1,2,3 macros or keybindings- these help so you dont need to use your mouse for clicking on enemys just hit your bind for it. also have Focus macros on blind and a focus on your combat stun. and get a good healer for arenas that can tell you if you need to pop defensives or just learn when you need to in certain situations...

I like PvP as long as I can not be stunlocked. The sad thing is that healers and warlock are constantly focused and I can spend up to 8 seconds locked up by two to three enemies. That can be a very frustrating thing. :(

Get used to using a 12 button mmo mouse. It makes keybinding all the moves SO much easier. After about a week your muscle memory will never forget it. And then, its all easy.

I'd normally suggest you dueling for learning pvp, but with no stat templates and legendaries legion duels are completely broken. If you could war game other classes 1v1, that would be the best way to learn basically everything you need, aside from teamwork/group strats/arena positioning.

Here's a way to fix BattlegroundTargets addon: - Open \Interface\AddOns\BattlegroundTargets\BattlegroundTargets.lua; - Go to line #553; - Replace "local id, name, _, icon, _, role = GetSpecializationInfoForClassID(classID, i)" w/ "local id, name, _, icon, role = GetSpecializationInfoForClassID(classID, i)", obv omit quotes. - Done. Spec-related API functions' returns were changed in 7.1.5, and BT hasn't been updated since early 7.0, that's why it doesn't work. P.S. Scrolled down a bit, it's already mentioned, oh well :p I'll leave this comment here anyway, jic.

+adam parker Some specs have insanely powerful burst windows. So often it's a case of knowing how to deal with them and saving defensives. Plus they might have like a 6-8% damage lead on you. Not as bad as 40%+ like in WoD

Just because gear gives them 2 % or something more damage, if even that, doesn't mean some classes can't burst. I've bursted people on an arena as a ret paladin with 840'ish ilvl gear from 100 to 0 in less than 5 seconds alone -> repentance -> trinket -> judgement -> stun -> wings -> justicar crit for 1,3 mil -> wake of ashes -> justicar crit for 1,3 mil -> gg.

I cant spend hour upon hours grinding pve. I just cant mentally and I don't want to submit my time to it. I do as little as possible to allow me to be able to pvp successfully. The post ill time ill spend on wow at once is around 2-3 hours max even if I log off to play another game.

Jan 14 -5 Battleground Targets Addon Fix - Post 7.1.5 I've tested this and it works until the developer provides an update from the 08/2016 latest build - (credit to Krampus-Velen) for sharing. Steps to fix BG Targets: 1) Open up battlegroundtargets.lua with notepad in the following directory C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\interface\addons\BattlegroundTargets 2) after opening battlegroundtargets.lua with notepad - save it to battlegroundtargets.old (so you can replace back if you mess up) 3) close the file 4) Open up the original battlegroundtargets.lua with notepad (you won't see the lua extension this time) in the following directory C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\interface\addons\BattlegroundTargets 5) Once open in notepad - open EDIT then Find search on local id (this will bring you to the section you need to edit) 6) Replace old line with new and save and exit / then restart wow. OLD: local id, name, _, icon, _, role = GetSpecializationInfoForClassID(classID, i) NEW: local id, name, _, icon, role = GetSpecializationInfoForClassID(classID, i)
