So if this looks familiar it's probably b/c you watched the first version I did back in December. I still can't believe I finally finished it. Like. Damn. I first started doing the final art for this right when quarantine started, and it's been a weird ride to say the least.

You know, this is perfect for a multitude of reasons. We're finally hitting episode 100 this Thursday (so they've really come a long way), we're just now coming out of the social distancing hiatus, and they're about to have a (relatively) low-stakes encounter after having resolved a bunch of major plotlines. I'm sure there are other reasons, though I can't think of them off the top of my head.

How can something that at first glance seem so simpel in the visual department have such a great impact on an emothional scale?!?! i just found critical role two months ago and have since binge watched the complete second campaign. So every little image here was still fresh in my mind. bravo, you truly catched there growth. thought i think it should have included Jester greatest Archievment, Tricking a Powerfull Hag with a cupcake. but i guess you could only squeeze so much in the video.

i'll admit i had several different versions of what to do for Jester, including the temple of Bahamut scene. hers was the hardest to do, because there are so many great moments for her, but I chose to do one that best represented a story arc/growth - her changing relationship with the traveler, from friend to devotee to ..equal (?). whereas the cupcake, while a crowning moment of awesome, is just as easily a plan I could see her coming up with when we first meet her (well, if she had access to modify memory ofc). I really wanted the ending chorus to not just be cool moments for the characters (although I did try to push those in) but really hammering in arcs + growth - and now i'm just rambling and anyways all this to say glad you liked the video!

This is a *complete* summary of the *ENTIRE* campaing 2 so far, with accurate characters, fully colored and on beat to the song on relevant parts. THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE; yet you've done just that. Seriously, this got recommended to be and I wouldn't be anyhow surprised if this blew up. You deserve it. Well done, R. wydriad? anyway. Good job on this. I've seen a lot of cr animatics, but this honestly gets a spot in my favourites. What a peculiar timing to get it done too, with the hiatus and stuff. But it ends soon! you know, I've been thinking about this a lot in the past month, and honestly, idk if I could do it. I started working on the draft of the vid back in fall of '19 and did basically all of the final version during the hiatus in '20, and I think I'm too attached to some of the scene-lyric choices that figuring out how to fit another 40 episodes in - what to cut, what to remove - is just going to have too many hang ups. I'd love to see someone else's take on it, though, I just don't think it's something I'd be able to do.
