Beautiful……my mother in law has a 2004 accord that got repainted black at maaco like 10 yrs ago…..recentley the clear coat was starting to go so i ended up scuffing it and re-clearing it…. I ended up putting that blue ghost pearl in the clear and it pretty much turnt out just like that fender……needless too say she was soooo juiced when she seen it and now all her nieghbors want their cars painted…….i have to remind these people that im just a PLUMBER that loves anything with Wheels and motors!!!!

I think this is the color Im going to use on my 94 Flatbed 4x4 Im building, I like the 2 coats and that is what I was going for but now Ive got a tough decision on whether to go all the way with it like you did here. That turned out beautiful. great job as always.

I really dig the color. I think I would have left it at two coats but it really depends on the person's preferences and project. I love lowrider and bass boat flakes and someone else might not. It turned out great as always.

everything pops better with a dark base i am learning....and red is very difficult to get a unique red via pigments unless orange . but one unique case was that grey with gesia girl over it that was amazing.. love these videos , American car culture isnt all v8s and going around in circles

Color looks good Should do a fade of 1 coat to 2 coats(1/3 of the way down) then 3 coats of pearl (another 1/3 of the way)

That's brilliant! I'm going to do exactly that except with dark green. I was hoping to do a green/black two tone thing, but that inner-coat technique will result in a similar effect. I'll have to look and see if Galactic Ghost Green is available.

love the channel...that a really nice blue metalic but wouldn't be better just to get the base in that color to begin with?Seems the black base and inner coat was just a waste for that color,I know its a demonstration to see the effect but wouldn't you agree with me on this one?The ones I like the most are the color shift pigments,wish I had the place and $$$ to do this to my truck,black base with a purple to red color shift would be awesome.

Color shift over silver is better than over black the colors are more vibrant. You should try the red to black over silver , gold , white

I think, should only done 2 coats and the control missed... I thought that third coat took away some of the effect! Not that it dont looked good in the end, but I THINK IT LOST some depth... good job!

Intercoat is basically another basecoat, but with no color added. This is not your finishing top coat; you can add pigment or flake and then spray it, but you'll need clearcoat over it to protect the color from the sun.

My truck is red. Thanks to you though, I know starting with that as a base will result in disappointment. I want it darker red and certainly not a shade of orange or pink. Black base with red pigment on top. Thank you for your experimentation and sharing.

I still have them, but I didn't want to just spray the red-to-black, and then have to sand it the next day. So, I put the color on my car, kept the black base and re-did the red base.

I'm going to be painting my wife's Jeep. Title says it's blue. I bought it primered black. So I'm fixing rust and repainting it "blue" so I don't have to change the title. Would something like this qualify as blue, or does the base have to be blue?

Check the laws where you live. Here in Florida you don’t have to notify the DMV when you change the color of your car.
