I would choose the sumo wrestler because I love purple. The bronze color on both is great. I actually like both colors. I would paint my truck either color. Land of the rising sun looks amazing. You make every color look amazing.

Very nice, both great colors. If you want to make people really think, paint one side of the car land of the rising sun and the other sumu wrestler with the hood roof and decklid a mix of the 2.

I wonder what a sliver base coat would come out like? And which color shift does work well with a white base? “Land of the rising sun” seemed to have larger shift impact than the “Sumo” did. But I don’t know squat.

I painted my car a Satin Claret Wine, which is like a satin maroon. Wonder if this color will show good. Is the Black base coat Required ?

I think the the rising sun is a better transition to the bronze/gold....I feel the purple to bronze is a dynamic transition..in the sumo... they are both beautiful

I'm going to say I like the sumo wrestler better out of these two. How well does the clear and pigment lay down ? Have you had many issues getting an even coverage ? I know these coatings are difficult to get right.

I'm looking for a deep blood red to black transfer without going brown or copper . Just strait red to black. PPG has a paint code that does it but at $4800 a gallon of paint just for base its kinda a hard pill to swallow

Can anyone explain wether or not its required to add a clear coat after this that is “clean “ (no pearl flakes) to have a good finish or would it mess things up?

The best results will be to use an intercoat to mix with the pearl which is a clear base coat. Then topcoat with straight clear coat. Then if you want to wet sand and buff to perfection your pearls don't move around on you and cause mottling (blotches). He skips the intercoat process here to save money on doing these experiments. It's usually a 3 stage process instead of 2. Same with candies. 😉✌

Using the intercoat will double your cost on materials. And a little more time. Intercoat dries fast tho like base coat.

Ordered a 25 gram jar of Monitor Lizard for my Accord, currently emerald. And a couple 1 grams of Sushi roll and Zen Garden. There selling out quick! Have a 98 accord I'm going to keep, so going to shoot it with black epoxy, and try the Monitor lizard over that. Why not...? Cheap.

Thanks! That was great. I was thinking of mixing the eye candy "candy apple red" with a red base coat I'm spraying on a guitar body. The mix is: Nitrocellulose lacquer, 30% thinner, Mixol red, eye candy. I was thinking of doing it this way so that the candy apple was slight and not so apparent.
