I was actually expecting a prismatic color effect on both sides. That's crazy how it turned out. Thanks for the experiment.
@Emprivan5 ай бұрын
lol, proof RGB makes white. :} Might just use 1/4 of that spoon for each color, and do many light coats. But you should shine different colors of light on it and see.

Although some thought this experiment was a bust or failure, I would with all due respect say this was far from that. This was a fantastic learning experience for everyone that watches GT's paint experiments. I would also like to thank EYE CANDY PIGMENTS for sponsoring GT and making all these excellent video's possible.

Maybe layer the colors? Ghost Gold on top of Ghost Red?
@GTsPerformance5 ай бұрын
Yea, I'm gonna have to try layering the colors instead of mixing

Agree 100% with this, the pigment load was too heavy resulting in the end result having a "milky" apperance"Definitely layer the colors. Love your videos man!!!!

Saw the comment you posted about using the ppg system cups. The Version 1.0 cup style is the one I PREFER too. Some folks just gotta run dat deeksucker too much. I contacted a supplier of these pearl cause I wanted to add a lil more blue into my Blue/green/Purple ghost pearl to make it show blue first as its a real toss up between green and blue but the blue does show well mostly. They said that ya cannot mix up the ghost pearls like that cause it changes the total volume and color involved. Now I see what they meant. Charcoal Gray wasn't what I would have expected either.

Great video is always. I wonder if the outcome was that way because there was quite a bit of product powder from each one kinda globby . Hey so I was thinking Harbor freight they sell those little wheels they’re not very much. You should put some on the bottom of your stand. And I don’t believe they’re too expensive either. Great video is always keep them coming.

I think to get the color reflection... You should probably split 1 gram into 5 portions... So the spray would have time to mix them in the air before hitting the panel... definitely would be worth a try
@tonyestvik79695 ай бұрын
As you said, was not expected it... were little "boring"... maybe it the effect takes out each other... Maybe so if you mix just, light or dark ghost pigments together then the effect gets back...but might be a question for the manufacturer.... Good job! And Grats in advance for 60' K subscribers almost three...

I like this experiment. It saved me money for sure since i was gonna try this. The next thing i was gonna try was a spray blend from one interference to another to another but now seeing the transition mix might blend to white I'm not so sure. You know, from blue to green to gold to red. From the back of the car to the front. But not if the blend are gonna be gray or white. It would ruin the effect i want
@GTsPerformance5 ай бұрын
if we do each color separately, it might work better. Although, each color will stay on its own body panel. So let's say if we start on one side of the rear quarter panel starts off as red to blue, then the door from blue to green, then Fender from green to gold, we will not see the red from the rear quarter panel up on the front Fender. I'll try blending ghost pigment!

GT, that gray or gun metal looks really cool. Even though some of the other colors didn’t come through the gray looks great to me. For what my comment is worth.

Interesting, I was kind of expecting something like that on the black side (I figured grey or maybe a dark brownish grey), but I never would have guessed the white to be just white. I'm guessing not only too many colors, but too much pigment load in the paint. I'm still wondering about the suggestion I made a few weeks ago, 2 parts ghost blue/1part ghost green at a total pigment load of about 50g/gallon over black and white. I think that will clarify what actually just happed here. I don't think that you'll get the result that you think you will by putting a pearl over this grey and white, but who knows.

Ahhh such a monster disappointment. Thank you for doing it so I don't have to. I wonder if you did one color at a time and have them fade into each other? That might be cool. It's like all the colors came together and canceled each other out.
@85candanoza5 ай бұрын
Should of done white and black base. And do a ghost pearl of each color to go over white and black base. To see how each 1 lays. All together like how you did ghost blue with the different colors.

@ReelSouthernOutdoors5 ай бұрын
To much pearl for the amount of paint, so you are only seeing the white pigment because the particles are to close together so they cant reflect the light. They are muting one another out. When measuring pigments it is a level teaspoon, most over fill the spoon and use a scraper blade to level the teaspoon. I would say you have enough pearl for a gallon or more. But, you never know what you might get sometimes until you try. The only way to find the limit is to go past it. Great work keep it coming.

Howdy GT. I have a 1982 motorcycle that came with the prettiest maroon metallic a fella ever saw. The factory said it’s “wine berry red” but I’ve been unable to recreate it. It’s like a dark burgundy with a red and gold metal flake. Any thoughts? Eye Candy if you’re watching that’s aimed at you too.
